Orthodontic appliance
10064706 · 2018-09-04 ·

An orthodontic appliance has a post attached to a first upper tooth, and a button with a recess attached to a second upper tooth. An elongated arm has an eye at one end through which the post is inserted to allow the elongated arm to rotate about the post, and a tip at the other end for removable insertion into the recess of the button. The length of the elongated arm is selectable to maintain a desired spacing between the first and second upper teeth (e.g., by cutting the tip of the elongated arm). An elastic extends from either the post or button to an attachment point on the patient's lower dental arch to exert a force between the patient's maxilla and mandible.

DEVICE FOR INTRA-ORAL APPLICATIONS TO REPOSITION MANDIBULAR JAW
20180235733 · 2018-08-23 ·

An orthodontic appliance for pushing the mandibular jaw relative to the maxillary jaw in response to jaws being closed is described. The orthodontic appliance includes a first member and a second member separated from the first member when jaws are open. The first member is fixedly attached to one of mandibular or maxillary dental arches, and the second member is rotatingly coupled with the other one of mandibular or maxillary dental arches. The first member includes a first surface and a second surface where in the second surface is extended from the first surface. The second surface is approximately parallel with the occlusal surfaces of teeth. The second member includes a first arm and a second arm where in the first arm and a second arm are formed, as an integral part of a rigid body. First member and second member are attached to molar teeth on mandibular or maxillary jaws to put them in vertical alignment. During the closure of dental arches, second arm of the second member contacts the second surface of the first member, and rotation of the second member is initiated. As a result of the rotation of the second member, first arm of the second member contacts the first surface of the first member, and further rotation of the second member pushes the mandibular jaw in either anterior or posterior direction.

A method and apparatus with auto-inactivation for the lateral expansion or constriction of posterior teeth, anterior advancement or retraction of the anterior teeth, and distal expansion of the molars, bicuspids and canines is described. This system is for correction of the upper dental arch and jaw bone, nasal cavity constriction, or lower dental arch constriction, which helps to resolve the dental malposition, dental crowding, proper room for tongue position, and expansion of nasal cavity for improvement of airway. The appliance includes loaded springs around the wires connected to molar band with connector tubes and female attachments that are extended to the front tube. The spring creates a distalization force on the first and/or second molars, anterior extending force on front teeth including canines and incisors, and lateral expansion for the posterior teeth including, canines, bicuspids and molars.

Mandibular repositioning device

A mandibular repositioning device having a lower assembly having a buccal tube having a slot opening formed therein with the tube being connected to a molar bracket that fits over a molar, a lower wedge having a head portion having an inner contact surface, and an integral extension portion with the extension portion being adapted for insertion into the slot opening for adjustment purposes, and an upper assembly having a buccal tube having a slot opening formed therein with the tube being connected to a molar bracket that fits over a molar, an upper wedge having a head portion having an outer rounded contact surface, and an integral extension portion, the extension portion being adapted for insertion into the slot opening for adjustment purposes. Set screws are adapted for contacting the extension portions for holding the upper wedge and lower wedge in place with the outer rounded contact surface bearing against the inner contact flat surface for repositioning a mandibular jaw.

Orthodontic remodeling device

An orthodontic remodeling device includes a sleeve having first and second screw holes in two ends thereof. The first and second screw holes have opposite thread directions. A first screw rod includes a first threaded portion threadedly engaged with the first screw hole and a first assembling portion exposed outside of the sleeve. A second screw hole includes a second threaded portion threadedly engaged with the second screw hole and a second assembling portion exposed outside of the sleeve. Two tooth pushing members are respectively engaged with the first and second assembling portions. Each tooth pushing member includes at least one tooth coupling ring mounted on at least one tooth of a patient for pushing the at least one tooth outward. The sleeve is rotatable to move the first and second screw rods toward or away from each other to change a relative position between the two tooth pushing members.
