Orthodontic correction device
11197740 · 2021-12-14 ·

An orthodontic correction device includes a masticatory unit with a rigid body. The masticatory unit can be removably worn on a dental arch and does not deform when accommodating misaligned teeth. A recess is formed in the masticatory unit to accommodate a tooth of the dental arch which requires orthodontic correction. A guiding groove is formed on the occlusal surface of the masticatory unit. An elastic member is configured to stretch across the occlusal surface of the masticatory unit, retained in the guiding groove, and coupled with several connection parts affixed to the buccal surface and lingual surface of the tooth. Occlusal loading generated during mastication is transmitted to the teeth of the dental arch through the masticatory unit and activates the elastic member to move the tooth to its desired position. The orientation of the guiding groove determines the moving direction of the tooth.

ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE AND PLIERS FOR ORTHODONTICS

An orthodontic appliance is provided and includes: a base member fixed to two or more screws implanted in a vicinity of median palatine suture of a palate bone; an arm-shaped arm member having a first connecting portion connected to the base member and a second connecting portion located in a vicinity of palatal side of a tooth; and a traction member that is made of an elastic wire material and pulls a tooth as the traction target. The traction member has a traction base portion, a traction fixation portion, and a traction force generation portion. The traction fixation portion has a bent portion in which the wire material extending along dentition is plastically deformed and bent toward a tooth root side. The bent portion is hooked on a protruding portion protruding to a palate side in a bracket.

Orthodontic Brackets

An orthodontic bracket comprising: a base having a rear surface and a front surface, the rear surface configured to be adhered to a surface of a tooth (outside/labial and/or inside/lingual) in use; and an archwire holder which is rotationally mounted to the front surface of the base, the archwire holder being configured to be rotatable around an axis which is perpendicular to the base to within +/−30°, wherein the archwire holder comprises at least one slot configured to hold an archwire in use, and wherein the archwire holder is rotatable for receiving the archwire and applying a desired amount and/or orientation of tip and/or torque to the tooth in use.

DENTAL APPLIANCES AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

The present technology comprises methods of manufacturing an orthodontic appliance. For example, a method can include forming an orthodontic appliance in an intermediate configuration by a casting process. The method can further include securing the appliance to a shape forming fixture such that the appliance assumes a desired configuration. The shape forming fixture can comprise a gingiva portion including a surface having a shape corresponding at least in part to a gingiva of a patient and a securing portion carried by the gingiva portion and configured to releasably secure to a portion of the appliance. The method can further include setting a shape of the appliance while the appliance is secured to the shape forming fixture.

Teeth repositioning systems and methods

Systems and methods of repositioning teeth, using one or more appliances for installing on a patient's teeth are described. The appliance includes an arch shaped member; a plurality of spring members coupled to or provided on the arch shaped member; and a plurality of securing members for securing to a corresponding plurality of the patient's teeth on a one-to-one basis, the securing members being supported by the arch shaped member. The arch shaped member and the plurality of springs, together, comprise a two dimensional structure having a length dimension and a width dimension with varying widths along the length dimension, that is bent into a three dimensional structure.

The present invention relates to an orthodontic gripping device having a body made of a superelastic metal alloy, cold worked titanium beta III, or solution heat treated and aged titanium beta III. The body has first and second, spaced apart arm portions connected to each other. Each arm portion includes a jaw portion having an inner, arch wire-gripping, surface. The inner gripping surfaces are disposed opposite one another in spaced relation with a station defined therebetween for receiving the arch wire. At least a portion of the station is sized smaller than the arch wire. The arm portions are resiliently deflectable outwardly away from each other to admit the arch wire into the station. Once seated in the station, the arch wire is tightly held by inner gripping surfaces so as to resist displacement of the gripping device relative to the arch wire.
