SELF-LOCKING ORTHODONTIC BRACKET
20200188064 · 2020-06-18 ·

A self-locking orthodontic bracket includes a bracket body having a first surface and an arch-wire slot disposed on the first surface, a sliding cover matched with the bracket body and comprising a second surface towards the first surface, and a deformable locking element configured for locking the sliding cover on the bracket body. A positioning groove is disposed on the second surface. The first surface includes a guiding surface, and the second surface is slidably engaged with the guiding surface. A sinking groove is disposed on the guiding surface, and a bottom surface of the sinking groove is further provided with a locking groove. A lower part of the locking element is fixed in the locking groove, and an upper part of the locking element extends into the positioning groove, such that the sliding cover is slidably locked on the bracket body.

EXTENDED BUCCAL TUBE
20200069396 · 2020-03-05 · ·

This disclosure generally describes an extended buccal tube which is used in connection with braces for the teeth. The extended buccal tube accommodates an arch wire of a sufficient length to allow space to be created between one or more teeth while retaining the arch wire within a tube of the extended buccal tube. As space is created and the arch wire slides through the extended buccal tube, an overall length of the arch wire may be monitored through one or more windows in the extended buccal tube. Tooth pads on extended buccal tube may be rotatable by up to 20 in two axes for fitment purposes. When space has been created between the one or more teeth, extended buccal tube may be cut along scoring lines to separate teeth that were bonded together by the extended buccal tube.

An orthodontic post and pin assembly including a post structure, being slotted at its back end, for accommodating a pin therethrough, the post includes a further slot into which the wire of an orthodontic appliance may locate, so that when the post and pin assembly are connected onto the wire, and a hybrid screw is tighten within the post, the appliance may become affixed to the wire at the position of its tightening and securement. This eliminates the need for removal of the wire, when a different or different size orthodontic appliance needs to be installed.

Self-ligating orthodontic brackets

The present invention employs a self-ligating orthodontic bracket comprising a body having a pair of laterally spaced gingival tie wings and a pair of laterally spaced occlusal tie wings, the gingival and occlusal tie wings projecting from a labial surface of the body; an arch wire slot extending mesially-distally across the body and between the gingival and occlusal tie wings to accommodate an arch wire; a free-sliding, controlled-locking, or pivoting clip wherein the clip allows placement and removal of the arch wire when in the open position and prevents the displacement of the arch wire from the bracket member when in the closed position.
