In one aspect, the method includes actions of obtaining water consumption data that is based on first sensor data generated by a connected water meter that is installed at a property, determining, based on the obtained water consumption data, (i) that a water leak is occurring at the property and (ii) a type of water leak that is occurring at the property, in response to determining (i) that a water leak is occurring at the property and (ii) a type of water leak that is occurring at the property, determining, based on a type of water leak that is determined to be occurring at the property, an operation to mitigate potential damages caused by the water leak, and initiating performance of the operation in order to mitigate potential damages caused by the water leak.
Integrated process controller with loop and valve control capability
An integrated controller configured to operate in a field includes a network interface module, one or more function modules, and an output module. The network interface module is configured to receive, from a remote host via a communication link, a setpoint for a process variable. The one or more function modules are configured to (i) receive a measurement of a process variable from a field device and (ii) execute logic for a control loop including the field device based at least in part on the measurement of the process variable and the setpoint for the process variable, to generate an output signal independently of the remote host, where the output signal is for controlling the field device. The output module is configured to directly apply the generated output signal to the field device.
Valve control device and system
A valve control device, which is designed as a valve control head and/or as a valve position regulator head, for controlling a valve drive and/or a fitting. The valve control device includes a control unit for interacting with a functional unit, which is designed as an actuator unit, sensor unit, signal unit and/or communication unit, wherein the control unit has a device driver for interacting with the functional unit, wherein the device driver provides a software interface, which can be addressed by an application program which can be run on the control unit and/or a remote procedure call, in order to effect an interaction with the functional unit.
Voice-Controlled Faucet
A faucet system comprising a faucet; an electronic valve associated with the faucet; and a faucet controller associated with the electronic valve; wherein the faucet controller is configured to receive a faucet command from a command server; and actuate the electronic valve upon receiving the faucet command; wherein the command server is configured to receive a speech-based command from a natural language processing (NLP) server; generate the faucet command from the speech-based command and transmit the faucet command to the faucet controller; and wherein the NLP server is remote to the faucet.

Method for actuating a valve device on the basis of a characteristic curve
A method for actuating a valve device as a function of a characteristic curve including actuating the valve device with a dither superimposed on a target value (i_EDS) with such a frequency that the operating condition of the valve device follows the actuation corresponding to the characteristic curve (v_kk). The method further includes determining, with the characteristic curve (v_kk), the output values (1, x) which correlate with the target values (i_EDS) at inflection points of a harmonic oscillation impressed upon the valve device with the dither, and determining further output values as a function of the output values (1, x). The amplitude of the dither is predefined such that, during an actuation of the valve device, one of the inflection points lies in a first or second characteristic curve range (v_kk1 or v_kk3, v_kk3 or v_kk5), and another inflection point lies in a third characteristic curve range (v_kk2 or v_kk4).
ACTUATOR AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE ACTUATOR
An actuator (1) comprises an electric motor (11) for moving an actuated part (2) to an actuated position. The actuator (1) further comprises a controller (10) connected to the electric motor (11) and configured to determine a motor current of the electric motor (11) and to detect motor rotations. The controller (10) is further configured to determine the actuated position by counting the motor rotations detected while the motor current is at or above a current threshold indicative of a load torque, and by not counting motor rotations detected while the motor current is below said current threshold.
Methods and apparatus for coordinating operation of valves
Methods and apparatus for coordinating operation of valves are disclosed. In some examples, an apparatus includes a valve controller to receive a first signal from a first control system to change an operating state of a valve, the valve controller is to provide the first control system exclusive control of the valve. In some examples, the valve controller is to receive a second signal from a second control system requesting permission to operate the valve, and send a response to the second control system indicating the first control system has exclusive control of the valve and has changed an operating state of the valve.
Constructing valve positioners for hazardous areas
A controller for a valve assembly that is configured to meet requirements for use in hazardous areas. These configurations may regulate flow of instrument air to a pneumatic actuator to operate a valve. The controller may comprise enclosures, including a first enclosure and a second enclosure, each having a peripheral wall forming an interior space, and circuitry comprising a barrier circuit disposed in the interior space of one of the enclosures that power limits digital signals that exits that enclosure. In one example, the peripheral wall of enclosures are configured to allow instrument air into the interior space of the first enclosure but to prevent instrument air from the interior space of the second enclosure.
