WIRELESS ENGINE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EMISSION CONTROL AND AIRCRAFT NETWORKING
A wireless engine monitoring system for an aircraft engine includes a housing and wireless transceiver that receives engine data, including engine data relating to environmental engine emissions. A processor processes the engine data and generates an alarm report when the environmental engine emissions exceed a threshold.
Universal broadband control panel systems and methods
Systems and methods according to one or more embodiments are provided for universal aircraft broadband control within an aircraft flight deck. In one example, a system includes a control panel and a switch coupled to the control panel. The system further includes a controller coupled to the switch and configured to determine a switch position based on a switch position signal associated with a position of the switch, receive a conditioned aircraft signal associated with parameters of an aircraft, and provide a controller control signal to control whether transmissions occur from an aircraft antenna based on at least one of the switch position signal and the conditioned aircraft signal.
METHOD FOR FAULT DIAGNOSIS OF AERO-ENGINE SENSOR AND ACTUATOR BASED ON LFT
The present invention discloses a method for fault diagnosis of the sensors and actuators of an aero-engine based on LFT, and belongs to the field of fault diagnosis of aero-engines. The method comprises: establishing an aero-engine state space model using a combination of a small perturbation method and a linear fitting method; establishing an affine parameter-dependent linear-parameter-varying (LPV) model of the aero-engine based on the model; converting the LPV model of the aero-engine having perturbation signals and sensor and actuator fault signals into a linear fractional transformation (LFT) structure to obtain an synthesis framework of an LPV fault estimator; solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) to obtain the solution conditions of the fault estimator; and designing the fault estimator in combination with the LFT structure to realize fault diagnosis of the sensors and actuators of an aero-engine.
Stabilization of tool-carrying end of extended-reach arm of automated apparatus
Apparatus and methods that can be used to stabilize the distal end of an arm (and an end effector attached thereto) of an automated extended-reach tool-equipped assembly. Stabilization is provided by three or more stabilizers, each comprising a stationary part and a movable part. Each stationary part has a fixed location relative to the end effector; each movable part is translatably coupled to a respective stationary part and comprises a contactor disposed at a distal end of the movable part. When the stabilizers are actuated, the contactors are translated toward and into contact with the surface of the workpiece and then locked in place to stabilize the distal end of the arm and the end effector. During tool operation, the stabilizers reduce oscillation of the end effector (and all structure fixedly coupled thereto).
Two-stage fastener installation
A method and apparatus for installing a fastener. A reactive structural force is generated in a first direction during installation of the fastener. A new reactive structural force is generated in a second direction opposite to the first direction during the installation of the fastener.
AUGMENTED EXCEPTION PROGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT IN REAL TIME SAFETY CRITICAL EMBEDDED APPLICATIONS
A smart exception handler system for safety-critical real-time systems is provided. The system is configured to: receive a plurality of parameters at a plurality of nodal points in a real-time execution path; analyze the received parameters using a trained exception handling model, wherein the trained exception handling model has been trained using machine learning techniques to learn the critical path of execution and/or critical range of parameters at critical nodes, wherein the critical range of parameters comprises a learned threshold at a node; compute, using the trained exception handling model, a probability of fault at the critical nodes; compare the probability of fault at a critical node against a learned threshold at the node; and take proactive action in real-time to avoid the occurrence of a fault when the probability of fault at the node is higher than the learned threshold at the node.
SYSTEM CONTROL ARCHITECTURE MONITORING SYSTEM
One example includes a system control architecture that includes local control systems to provide respective condition signals associated with situational awareness conditions of an associated system architecture. A central system controller receives the condition signals, generates a control scheme for control of operational aspects of the associated system architecture based on the condition signals, and generates control signals based on the control scheme. The control scheme defines contributions of each of the local control systems to a control authority of each of the operational aspects. Operational components provide mechanical control of each of the operational aspects of the associated system architecture in response to the respective control signals to implement the control scheme. A control authority interface system provides an indication to a user of the respective contributions of the control authority of each of the respective local control systems to the operational aspects of the associated system architecture.

Utility fixture for creating a distributed utility network
A method and apparatus for distributing a number of utilities. The number of utilities may be coupled between a number of utility sources and a utility fixture. The number of utilities may be coupled between the utility fixture and a mobile system.
Mobile platforms for performing operations along an exterior of a fuselage assembly
A method and apparatus for performing an assembly operation. A tool may be macro-positioned relative to an exterior of a fuselage assembly. The tool may be micro-positioned relative to a particular location on the exterior of the fuselage assembly. An end effector is removably associated with an external robotic device associated with an external mobile platform. The tool is removably associated with the end effector. An assembly operation may be performed at the particular location on the panel using the tool.
