Synthetic representation of a surgical instrument

A synthetic representation of a tool for display on a user interface of a robotic system. The synthetic representation may be used to show force on the tool, an actual position of the tool, or to show the location of the tool when out of a field of view. A three-dimensional pointer is also provided for a viewer in the surgeon console of a telesurgical system.

Various exemplary methods, systems, and devices for controlling movement of a robotic surgical system are provided. In general, a plurality of surgical instruments can be simultaneously in use during performance of a surgical procedure. One or more of the plurality of instruments can be coupled to a robotic surgical system, which can be configured to control movement of the one or more of the plurality of instruments.

In-ear monitors and methods of manufacturing

An in-ear monitor and a method for manufacturing the in-ear monitor from a block of solid medium made from a combination of wood and acrylic and finished with an acrylic coating. The manufacturing process utilizes computerized numerical control techniques to subtractively manufacture the in-ear monitor from the block of solid medium. Acrylic pieces are embedded into the wood randomly or in a desired pattern so that each block has a unique design pattern. Each in-ear monitor is manufactured from a block of solid medium, will therefore, have a unique design pattern as well.

A tool and method for operating the tool are provided. The tool includes a housing and a power generator, such as a motor, disposed in the housing. The power generator has an operating parameter, such as rotational speed. A trigger member and associated magnet are displaceable relative to the housing. A plurality of sensors each generate an output signal based on movement of the magnet. A controller receives the output signals from the sensors, determines a base digital integer from each of the output signals, concatenates the base digital integers to form a concatenated digital integer. The controller varies the operating parameter based on the concatenated digital integer.

TOUCH-FREE CATHETER USER INTERFACE CONTROLLER

A command interpreter is in communication with a wireless controller. The command interpreter is configured to identify a reference location of the wireless controller, identify a second location of the wireless controller, and determine, based on the reference location and the second location, a sequence of instrument commands configured to adjust positioning of the instrument device.
