The invention relates to a superstructure support (20) as part of a prosthetic tooth replacement (1) between an implant body (10) and a superstructure, comprising a hollow implant post (23), a hollow implant pin (50), and an implant flange (31) lying therebetween. The cavity zones (67, 62) of the implant post (23) and of the implant pin (50) transition into each other. The cavity zones have respective center lines (69, 63), which include an angle of 60 to 86 angular degrees. The cavity zone (62) of the implant pin (50) has a screw head seat surface (65) that widens toward the implant flange. At least some areas of the implant flange form a supporting enveloping surface (37), which is oriented toward the implant post (23) and the outer edge (33) of which spans a reference plane (38), which is perpendicularly intersected by the center line (69) of the post-side cavity zone (67). The center lines of the implant post (23) and of the implant pin (50) intersect or cross below the reference plane (38). By means of the invention, a superstructure support (20) for the prosthetic tooth replacement is improved in such a way that a secure and lasting screwed connection to the implant body is ensured.

The present invention relates to a dental implant set having a fixture for insertion into a bore hole arranged in bone tissue having first indexing means, a dental component having second indexing means and being adaptable to the fixture in an engaged position where the first and second indexing means mate and in an intermediate position where the dental component and the fixture are in contact with each other but the first and the second indexing means do not mate, and a fixation screw being adapted for fixating the dental component to the fixture. The present invention also relates to a method for attaching a dental component to a dental fixture.

Bone anchor fixture for a medical prosthesis

A screw-shaped anchoring fixture for anchoring a prosthesis in the skull bone. The anchoring fixture comprises a main body configured to be implanted into the bone and a flange configured to function as a stop to prevent the main body from completely penetrating through the bone. The main body comprises a distal tapered apical portion, a first portion, and a second portion. The inner diameter of the second portion is greater than the inner diameter of the first portion. The method for inserting the anchoring fixture includes providing the anchoring fixture, drilling a hole, and inserting the anchoring fixture into the hole until the flange contacts the skull bone, wherein the hole has a diameter that is greater than the inner diameter of the first portion and less than the outer diameter of the second portion.

DENTAL IMPLANT

A dental implant including an implant body having a top surface, and at least one non-annular cutaway portion longitudinally extending downwardly from the top surface along one side of the body and outwardly to the periphery, and a method for making the implant. The implant body preferably includes a body portion and a head portion integrally formed with the body portion, the body portion has a periphery and the head portion has a non-circular periphery, and the periphery of the head portion is smaller than the periphery of the body portion.

TWO-PART MODELLING AID

A two part modelling aid (1, 100) for connection to a dental implant component (200), the modelling aid comprising a hollow base part (10, 110) comprising an open apical end (14, 114), an open coronal end (16, 116) and a tubular side wall (12, 112) extending from the apical to coronal end along a linear longitudinal axis (L.sub.B), the side wall having an interior and an exterior surface, one of said surfaces comprising an anti-rotation section (18, 118) having a non-circular symmetric cross-section in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and a hollow angled part (30, 30) comprising an open apical end (34, 134), an open coronal end (36, 136) and a tubular side wall (32, 132) extending between the apical end and coronal end and having an interior and exterior surface, the tubular side wall forming an apical portion (35, 135) of the angled part extending along a first linear axis (L.sub.1), and a coronal portion (37, 137) of the angled part extending along a second axis, the second axis being non-coaxial to the first axis such that the tubular sidewall creates a non-linear channel (38, 138), the apical portion being sized and shaped to form a friction fit with the base part, wherein, when the base part is connected to the angled part, a closed channel (60, 160) is formed extending from the apical end of the base part to the coronal end of the angled part, the first axis of the apical portion of the angled part being coaxial to the longitudinal axis of the base part and the anti-rotation section of the base part being exposed on a surface of the base part.
