Orthodontics treatment systems and methods
Techniques for preparing a model (e.g., a digital model) of a person's teeth are described. The techniques include receiving a model of a maxillary arch and a mandibular arch of a person's teeth, operating an automated mesh cleaning operation to modify the model, segmenting the model to identify individual teeth and gum tissue in the model, identifying and marking features of each tooth of the model, and adjusting the individual teeth of the model into a recommended orientation relative to each other, and applying a treatment method. The treatment method may include a selection of a bracket type and an aligner type. The techniques may determine a proposed location of brackets or aligners on the individual teeth based on the applied treatment method and export a digital model of a bracket tray for formation of a bracket tray that can be used to secure the brackets to a person's teeth.
MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR OPTICAL ELEMENT OF INTRAORAL SCANNER
A scanner for scanning a dental site comprises a base, a detector mounted to the base, and an optical element to redirect light reflected off of the dental site towards the detector along a detection axis in a first direction. Two or more flexures couple the optical element to the base, wherein the two or more flexures maintain an alignment of the optical element to the detector with changes in temperature.
ORAL IMAGE MARKER DETECTION METHOD, AND ORAL IMAGE MATCHING DEVICE AND METHOD USING SAME
The present invention provides an oral image marker detection method for detecting a marker, which is the reference when an oral scan image and a CT image are matched, the method comprising the steps of: aligning oral scan images in the horizontal plane direction; estimating a marker candidate area from the aligned oral scan images and detecting an undivided marker from the marker candidate area; and dividing the undivided marker to estimate a marker in the undivided marker, and estimating the area from the upper surface of the undivided marker to a certain depth in the lower direction to be the marker.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL DATA ACQUISITION METHOD AND DEVICE, AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM FOR PERFORMING SAME METHOD
A method of obtaining three-dimensional data includes: obtaining three-dimensional reference data with respect to an object; aligning, on the three-dimensional reference data, a first frame obtained by scanning a first region of the object; aligning, on the three-dimensional reference data, a second frame obtained by scanning a second region of the object, at least a portion of the second region overlapping the first region; and obtaining the three-dimensional data by merging the first frame with the second frame based on an overlapping portion between the first region and the second region.
User interface for a dental measurement system
Some of the embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a dental measurement method comprising: measuring an orientation of a dental measurement device includes a user interface; and displaying information on said user interface based on said orientation.
Method for producing dental adaptive element for alleviating recession of gingiva
A method for producing a dental adaptive element for alleviating recession of gingiva around an alveolar socket of a patient includes: obtaining images of a tooth; creating a 3D model having a crown part and a root part based on the images; obtaining a boundary curve on the 3D model between the crown part and the root part; on the root part of the 3D virtual model, obtaining an imaginary surface that protrudes in a direction from the crown part toward the root part; extracting a sub-model from the 3D model by removing a portion of the root part that extends between the imaginary surface and an end of the root part; and producing a dental adaptive element according to the sub-model.
OUTLIER DETECTION FOR CLEAR ALIGNER TREATMENT
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for identifying and facilitating review of outlier treatment plans. A method includes receiving an initial three-dimensional (3D) model of an initial arrangement of a patient’s teeth and generating a first final 3D model of a first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth based on the initial 3D model of the initial arrangement of the patient’s teeth. The method further includes comparing the first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth with a set of a plurality of final arrangements of teeth from previous treatment plans of past patients and determining whether the first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth satisfies one or more outlier criteria based on the comparing. Responsive to determining that the first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth satisfies the one or more outlier criteria, an orthodontic treatment plan comprising the first final 3D model of the first final arrangement of the patient’s teeth is classified as a clinical risk.
Systems for creating and interacting with three dimensional virtual models
Systems and methods are provided for preparation of orthodontics and prosthodontics. A method may include scanning a patient's teeth to form first 3D data of the patient's teeth including a removable element that obscures part of the dental surfaces of the patient's teeth and non-obscured tooth surfaces, removing the removable element form the patient's teeth so that the removable element no longer obscures the part of the dental surfaces of the patient's teeth, and scanning the previously obscured part of the dental surfaces of the patent's teeth and the non-obscured tooth surfaces.
Processing digital dental impression
A computer-implemented method and system of automatically detecting and removing extraneous material from a digital dental impression includes detecting one or more dental features in a digital dental impression, filtering the one or more dental features, digitally joining the one or more dental features, and determining one or more regions of interest from the joined one or more digital dental features.
ALIGNMENT STATE INDICATING APPARATUS AND METHOD
The present invention provides an alignment state indicating apparatus and an alignment state indicating method implemented by the apparatus, the apparatus comprising: a case having an opening which is open so that an object in the form of light enters into the case; an image capturing unit which is disposed in the case, and receives light incident through the opening of the case to obtain raw data; a control unit which performs data connection and alignment between three-dimensional data generated through image capturing of the image capturing unit, and determines whether an alignment error has occurred; and an actuator which vibrates when the alignment error has occurred.
