The sleeve can define a lumen therethrough for positioning upon an abutment assembly. The locking flaps can have varying length dimensions and can project radially inward or outward relative to the sleeve frame. The outward flaps can lock against surface features defined along an inner surface of a coping coupled to the oral appliance and the inward flaps can lock against surface features defined along a portion of the abutment assembly. The sleeve can release the oral appliance from the abutment assembly when the locking flaps of the sleeve are actuated by an actuation unit.

The retention element (4, 104, 104, 104) comprises an attachment portion (6, 106, 106, 106) for attaching the dental fitting (1, 1, 101, 101, 101) to the dental component (30). The retention element (4, 104, 104, 104) has a closed ring shape or an open ring shape in a cross-section perpendicular to the direction from the attachment portion (6, 106, 106, 106) towards a coronal end (8) of the main body (2, 2). The attachment portion (6, 106, 106, 106) comprises at least one projection (10, 110, 110, 110) extending in one or more directions substantially perpendicular to the direction from the attachment portion (6, 106, 106, 106) towards the coronal end (8) of the main body (2, 2). The retention element (4, 104, 104, 104) is integrally formed with or integrally attached to the main body (2, 2).
METHOD FOR CORRECTING A DENTAL PROSTHETIC MOUNTED UPON AN ANGULARLY-OFFSET INSTALLED ONE-PIECE MINIATURE DENTAL IMPLANT
A method for correcting an angular offset of a dental prosthetic mounted atop an angularly-offset installed one-piece miniature dental implant having a ball-shaped head above a circular neck, includes steps of: (a) unseating the angularly-offset prosthetic; (b) removing a rubber O-ring disposed about the circular neck; (c) providing a replacement nylon cap and metal housing subassembly and incorporating the subassembly into a dental prosthetic cavity; (d) mounting the dental prosthetic upon the angularly-offset installed miniature implant; and (e) angularly translating the mounted dental prosthetic from a first offset angular orientation to a second non-offset angular orientation.
