HAND HELD DENTAL FLOSSING DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
A hand-held dental flossing device facilitates a user to control feed and tension of a dental floss during the flossing of teeth. The hand-held dental flossing device comprises a body having a handle, a head with plurality of arms, and a floating platform. The plurality of arms comprises closed loops to facilitate a passage of a dental floss. The floating platform comprises a first spool, and a second spool. The first spool could unwind the dental floss for discharging upon rotation by a user. The second spool is adapted to wind a used portion of the dental floss upon rotation of the first spool and the second spool simultaneously by the user. The hand-held dental flossing device enables the user to control the tension of the dental floss at various modes by operating the first and second spools.
ORAL HYGIENE INSTRUMENT AND METHOD
An oral hygiene instrument that includes a flossing member and a brushing member at opposite ends of an elongated handle member. An oral hygiene substance, such as xylitol, may be applied to a flossing filament of the flossing member and bristles of the brushing member. The oral hygiene instrument may include one or more coupling mechanisms at one or both of the ends of the elongated handle member to selectively engage one or both of the flossing member and the brushing member. The oral hygiene instrument may also include one or more digit placement pads that promote a positioning of an oral hygiene instrument within a user's hand that is useful for flossing and brushing a user's teeth. These digit placement pads may indicate a proper sequence of flossing and brushing a user's teeth.

Sensuous oral cleaner
A comprehensive and sensuous oral cleaner (10A, 10B, 10C, and 10D) is disclosed to automate and modernize all necessary oral hygiene. The cleaner comprises a power driver (12, 12B, 12C, 12D) that can selectively power-drive a replaceable flosser attachment (13, 14, 15, 17), a replaceable synergistic multi-motion toothbrush attachment (29), and an anti-halitosis attachment (81). The driver also power-drives scent from fragrance sources (68, 24) in the attachments for sensuous ambiance while oral cleaning. The toothbrush attachment is detachably connectable to the power driver for imparting plural motions of a long-bristle toothbrush (77). These actions serve for driving long toothbrush bristles to longitudinally penetrate interdentally for power-brushing interdental contours. In the flosser attachment, a floss span is power-driven in plural motions to efficiently remove plaque as the moving span follows, scrubs, and polishes interdental contours between adjacent teeth. Three embodiments of the flosser attachment use warmed power-driven air to dry the used floss for odor-free storage until replacement of the attachment. Alternatively, two of the flosser attachment embodiments feature an antimicrobial (68) that coats the used floss to inhibit microbial activity. The power-driven anti-halitosis attachment drives a multi-bladed tongue scraper (89, 89B) along with pressurized air to neutralize causal anaerobic tongue bacteria.
