Oral Care Process

An oral care process which includes initiating a first operational sequence which includes generating an electric potential between a first sacrificial electrode and a second sacrificial electrode, the electric potential in the first operational sequence beginning with one of a first polarity and a second polarity, stopping the first operational sequence, and commencing a second operational sequence which includes generating the electric potential between the first sacrificial electrode and the second sacrificial electrode. The electric potential in the second operational sequence may begin with the other of the first polarity and the second polarity. The electric potential may be alternated between the first polarity and the second polarity at predetermined intervals during at least one of the first operational sequence and the second operational sequence.

A dental hygiene device for brushing proximal surfaces of adjoining teeth and pockets resulting from crooked teeth includes a shaft, which has a first end and a second end. The first end is attachable to an electric toothbrush so that the shaft is operationally engaged thereto. The shaft is oscillated by the electric toothbrush. A plurality of bristles is engaged to and extends from the shaft proximate to the second end. The bristles oscillate coincidentally with the shaft. The plurality of bristles is tapered distal from the shaft so that the plurality of bristles is pointed. The plurality of bristles is used to brush proximal surfaces of adjoining teeth and pockets resulting from crooked teeth.

ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH HEAD

Toothbrush head for an electric toothbrush comprising a brush which comprises a bristled dome joined to an annular carrier, wherein the bristled dome comprises a supporting dome having a convex outer surface, and bristles which extend outwards from the convex outer surface, and wherein the bristled dome is a monolithic structure comprising fused bristles. The brush can be substantially hemi-spherical, and the head can comprise one or two such brushes.

Toothbrush and system

A toothbrush of the present invention includes: a main body including a head portion having a bristle raising surface on which bristles are provided in a standing manner; a light emission unit configured to emit light through a specific region of the bristle raising surface to a tooth surface; and a light reception unit configured to receive radiated light from the tooth surface resulting from the light through the specific region, the light emission unit and the light reception unit being provided in the main body. The toothbrush also includes a detection unit configured to collectively detect whether or not dental plaque or dental calculus is present on the tooth surface based on an output from the light reception unit. The toothbrush further includes a determination unit configured to determine that dental calculus is present on the tooth surface.

A brush head for an oral cleansing device is provided. The brush head may include a shaft and a cantilevered beam positioned within the shaft. The cantilevered beam may be configured to press against a drive shaft of the oral cleansing device to transfer motion of the drive shaft to the brush head. The cantilevered beam may be formed on an adapter secured within the shaft.

TOOTHBRUSH WITH CONTROLLED SUCTION AND/OR IRRIGATION

A toothbrush system configured to be coupled to an external suction source. The toothbrush system includes a shaft with a main body with a first end and a second end, and a bristle array and a suction port arranged at the second end. The bristle array and the suction port both extend away from the shaft so that an opening of the suction port is proximal to a distal end of the bristle array. The shaft also includes a stem arranged at the first end. The stem includes a passageway that extends through the main body to provide a fluid connection to the suction port, and is configured to be coupled to the external suction source. Also, the handle is removably coupled to the shaft and includes a drive system operably coupled to the bristle array to actuate motion of the bristle array.

ATTACHMENT FOR AN ORAL CARE DEVICE HANDLE
20230240823 · 2023-08-03 ·

An oral care device attachment for being coupled to an oral care device handle having an essentially cylindrical drive shaft coupling end. The attachment has an outer attachment tube having a coupling end for being detachably secured at a housing of the device handle. A carrier is mounted for driven motion at the outer attachment tube. A motion transmitter is disposed inside the outer attachment tube and has a first end coupled with the carrier and a second end arranged for coupling with the essentially cylindrical drive shaft coupling end. The second end has a coupling unit having a top plate and at least one at least partly deformable and essentially cylindrical wall element extending from the top plate, or at least two elastic or deflectable wall elements extending from the top plate, respectively. Each of the elastic or deflectable wall elements extends over a portion of a virtual receiver cylinder, so that an essentially cylindrical receiver receptacle is defined by the top plate and the one at least partly deformable essentially cylindrical wall element or by the top plate and the at least two elastic or deflectable wall elements.

Connected dental device

A system for providing a connected dental device is disclosed. In particular, the system may include integrating a network chip or transceiver into a dental device, such as a toothbrush, so as to enable the dental device to communicate with a user device and one or more accessory devices. Once the user device and one or more accessory devices are paired with the user device, the system may track information associated with the dental device and the user using the dental device. Based on the tracked information, the system may determine an action to be performed by the user using the dental device. Using the dental device, the system may transmit a notification to the user device to alert the user of the action that needs to be performed. The system may also transmit notifications providing status information for the dental device and the one or more accessory devices.
