METHODS FOR AUTOMATED TOOTH BRUSHING
The present invention describes a method for a U-shaped teeth brush device having a conformable shape adjusting U-shaped teethbrush module and one or more individual tooth brushes coupled to the power drive mechanism, each brush having a sensor, piezoelectric crystal and transducer and each tooth brush having a block anchor coupled to the power drive, under smart controls, an electronic control system for sensing individual tooth pressure and controlling motor transmission of vibration to prior positioned brushes, whereby a users unique mouth features can be accounted for by adjusting U-shape distal ends to fit through the users mouth and align with users teeth arch for programmatically brushing more than one tooth simultaneously.
MOUTHPIECE FOR AN ORAL CARE DEVICE
An approach for obtaining measurements of mechanical properties of a gripping performed by masticatory apparatus. A mouthpiece provides a sensing arrangement (for obtaining the measurement) and one or more mouth contacting elements for protecting, cleaning or treating teeth/gums. In this way, measurements indicative of potential abnormalities or physiological dysfunction in the masticatory apparatus can be obtained using a mouthpiece that has a secondary function of protecting, cleaning and/or treating elements of the mouth.
TOOTH CLEANING APPLIANCE
Disclosed are improved apparatus, structures and methods for tooth cleaning using mouthpiece appliance(s), water jets, brushes, and sonics/ultrasonics as shown and described.
MOUTH-CONTAINING TOOTHBRUSH
A mouth-containing toothbrush includes a housing, a first tooth-brushing module assembly and a rotary drive assembly. The housing has a groove for containing teeth. The groove has a first inner groove face, a second inner groove face, and a bottom face connected between the first inner groove face and the second inner groove face. The first tooth-brushing component is used for cleaning surfaces of the teeth, and the first tooth-brushing component includes a brush body shaft and bristles arranged on an outer circumference of the brush body shaft. The brush body shaft is rotatably arranged between at least one of the first inner groove face and the second inner groove face and the teeth, and the brush body shaft extends along an extension direction of the groove. The rotary drive assembly is used to drive rotation of the brush body shaft.
CUSTOMIZABLE TOOTHBRUSH TO IMPROVE THE ORAL HYGIENE AND METHOD TO PRODUCE THEREOF
Disclosed is a customizable toothbrush produced in a real-time corresponding to a teeth structure of a user. The customizable toothbrush includes a silicone brush head, a sonic body, bristles, a conjoining unit, and occlusal stoppers. The silicone brush head is fabricated by negative shape/investing by utilizing an algorithm associated with additive manufacturing. The negative investing is obtained through scan model of the teeth structure captured by the direct intraoral scanner. The sonic body creates an oscillation motion while brushing the teeth. The bristles are arranged over the silicone brush head to clean the teeth structure. The conjoining unit joins the silicone brush head with the sonic body. The occlusal stoppers are placed into the silicone brush head to stabilize the silicone brush head in an oral cavity of the user. The occlusal stoppers allow the user to bite down on the silicone brush head at a desired position while brushing.
HANDS-FREE ORAL CARE DEVICE AND METHOD
Hands-free oral care devices and methods are described herein. In one embodiment, an oral care device includes a mouthpiece configured to be received within a user's mouth, the mouthpiece including an upper bristle track and a lower bristle track that are pivotably coupled together. The device further includes a first housing component coupled to the mouthpiece such that at least a portion of the first housing component can be compressed between the upper bristle track and the lower bristle track, and a second housing component sealingly coupled to the first housing component to define a watertight cavity therebetween. A battery can be disposed within the cavity, as well as an actuator and a pressure sensitive switch that is effective to detect pressure exerted on the first housing component when the upper and lower bristle tracks pivotably move relative to one another and selectively couple the actuator to the battery.
DENTAL FLOSS HOLDER
A dental floss holder includes a longitudinal connecting element, a first support plate, a second support plate, and at least four lengths of dental floss. The longitudinal connecting element includes a first end and a second end. The first support plate is arranged at the first end of the longitudinal connecting section, and has a first circumference. The second support plate is arranged at the second end of the longitudinal connecting section, opposite the first support plate, and has a second circumference. The first and second circumference are arranged such that each of the at least four lengths of dental floss is arranged on the dental floss holder and each of the at least four lengths of dental floss extends from the first circumference to the second circumference.
ORAL SURFACE CHARACTERISTIC DETECTION
Means for detecting oral surface characteristics, or proxies thereof, based on sensing of transient force or displacement of protruding cleaning members of an oral care device, and based on mapping said sensing data onto cleaning member position and/or motion data. From analysis of patterns in the position and/or motion data over a measurement or sampling period, surface characteristics including a measure of surface friction may be derived. In some embodiments, secondary surface characteristics may be derived based on the determined measure of surface friction.
Toothbrush
A toothbrush for brushing action by providing a lateral motion within a plane in which a dentition exists. The toothbrush 200 has a brush member 210, a guide 221 for guiding a movement of the brush member 210, a guide connector 222 for connecting the guide 221 to a drive source and a brush frame 223 connected to the guide 221 for fixing the brush member 210. The guide 221 has a first region 221A and a second region 221B with a lower elastic modulus than the first region 221A. A force applied from the dentition to the brush member 210 fixed to the brush frame 223 is transmitted to the second region 221B by way of the first region 221A and the brush frame 223. This causes deformation of the second region 221B. The deformation fulfills the role of guiding the movement of the brush member 210.
Dental Cleaning Device
A dental cleaning device for simultaneously brushing at a plurality of dental positions. The dental cleaning device includes: a mouthpiece having a pressure chamber for containing a fluid under pressure; a pump unit arranged in fluid communication with said pressure chamber and configured to reciprocatingly increase and decrease a pressure in the pressure chamber; a pressure sensor configured to measure a pressure in the pressure chamber and to produce a pressure signal; and a controller configured to generate a control signal. The controller is configured to generate the control signal in dependence on the pressure signal and the pump unit is configured to provide a delivery into and/or out of the pressure chamber in response to the control signal. The controller is configured to reduce the delivery of the pump unit when the pressure in the pressure chamber exceeds a predetermined upper threshold.
