The oral insert is sized and shaped according to a user's oral cavity, and has a plurality of fluid nozzles and an effluence conduit to channel fluid out of the user's oral cavity. Pressurized fluid provided through the nozzles are directed to, for example, the interproximal spaces between the user's teeth. In some variations, a system comprises an oral insert and an elastomeric substrate that is attached to the oral insert. In some variations, the elastomeric substrate comprises a textured surface vibrates and/or mechanically agitates and/or translates along the surface of the user's teeth. In some variations, a system for oral care comprises a microbiome collection chamber. Some variations comprise dental shim devices that are used for acquiring oral structure data and alignment between the upper and lower arches.

ORAL HYGIENE SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE

An oral hygiene device comprises a housing having an outside mouth portion and an inside mouth portion, at least one energy delivery element disposed in or on the inside mouth portion, configured to deliver energy to one or more teeth of a subject, a controller disposed in the outside mouth portion electrically connected to the at least one energy delivery element, an energy storage unit disposed in the outside mouth portion, and a sleeve removably connected to the inside mouth portion of the housing, the sleeve having upper and lower channels configured to accept the upper and lower teeth of the subject. A method of using an oral hygiene device and a method of administering an oral hygiene treatment are also described.

Oral care appliance and a method for controlling pressure therein

An oral care appliance and a method of controlling pressure in the oral care appliance are disclosed. The pressure inside a mouthpiece of the oral care appliance is controlled by an actuator. The actuator is triggered when a targeted threshold value of an operational characteristic is reached. Automatic control of the pressure in the mouthpiece enhances both cleaning efficiency and user comfort.

POWERED DENTAL CLEANING DEVICE

Powered toothbrush systems that provide improved bristle positioning and bristle contact with tooth surfaces that reduce the time and effort required for effective brushing. Some embodiments use alternating or oscillating pneumatic pressure and suction to move a toothbrush head. Various configuration of the brush head provide different areas of coverage ranging from individual tooth to quarter mouth (U-cross section), to half (U-cross section or H-cross section) or whole mouth (U-cross section or H-cross section) coverage. Some embodiments include flexible fingers and/or bladders to keep the bristle tips properly engaged with the teeth and gums, providing bristle contact over a wide variety of malocclusion. The shape of the brush heads adapts to conform closely to the shape of the user's dental tray and to any malocclusion that may be present. The powered toothbrush automatically generates motion of the brush head that simulates the Modified Bass Method of brushing.
