Dental cleaner discharge guard systems and methods
Rotating dental systems and related guards and methods are disclosed. In some embodiments a guard is configured to prevent material from building up on at least a portion of the dental system. In some embodiments the guard is configured to prevent materials from being discharged from the dental system. In some embodiments, the guard is configured to direct the flow of material along a portion of the dental system. Some guards within the scope of this disclosure include bristles.
Bio-resorbable debride or implant cleaning tool and method of manufacturing the same
The present invention is directed to a debridement and/or implant cleaning tool 1 in which the means for cleaning 4 is made of a biodegradable material. Thus, if parts of the means for cleaning 4 come loose during use, these will be degraded by natural processes in the body and will not remain in the body and cause negative body reactions.
Air-driven interproximal toothbrush
The interproximal toothbrush includes an appliance body and neck with a nozzle member having a nozzle tip shaped to fit into interproximal teeth spaces. Bursts of air or air/liquid mixture are generated, exiting through the nozzle tip. A helix member or, alternatively, a spring, is supported within a channel in the nozzle member. The helix member is free to rotate as air or the air/liquid mixture is moved through the channel. A set of bristles is attached to a forward end of the helix member, so that it rotates with the helix member. Alternatively, a set of bristles is attached to the distal end of the spring so that successive bursts of air or the air/liquid mixture produce an in-and-out movement of the set of bristles toward and away from the teeth.

PROPHY ANGLE WITH TRANSLATING PADDLE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR METERED DISPENSING OF A PROPHYLAXIS MEDIUM WITH TACTILE FEEDBACK
A disposable prophy angle with an accessible and replaceable internal collapsible prophylaxis cartridge and a push button and plunger/paddle combination to force a metered amount of prophylaxis medium into the prophy angle while providing audible and/or tactile feedback.
ILLUMINATING FEEDBACK DURING TEETH CLEANING
A toothbrush is disclosed. The toothbrush includes a handle, a brush tip coupled to the handle, the brush tip including a plurality of bristles, a motor housed within the handle for operating the brush tip, a power source coupled to the motor, one or more lights coupled to the handle and viewable by a user when holding the handle, and a control module housed within the handle and in communication with the one or more lights, wherein the control module is configured to monitor a pressure exerted by the brush tip on a surface, determine when the exerted pressure exceeds a pressure threshold, and, in response to the exerted pressure exceeding the pressure threshold, activate the one or more lights to alert the user that the exerted pressure exceeds the pressure threshold.

Load sensing for oral devices
A toothbrush is disclosed. The toothbrush includes a handle, a brush tip connected to the handle, wherein the brush tip includes a plurality of bristles operably connected thereto, a power source, a direct current motor in selective electrical communication with the power source, wherein the motor includes a drive shaft, a drive assembly connected between the brush tip and the drive shaft, wherein the drive assembly converts rotation of the drive shaft into movement of the plurality of bristles, and a control assembly in electrical communication with the motor and the power source; wherein during operation of the motor, the control assembly monitors a current draw by the motor and adjusts a current applied to the direct current motor based on the current draw.
Dental cleaner discharge guard systems and methods
Rotating dental systems and related guards and methods are disclosed. In some instances a guard may be configured to prevent material from building up on at least a portion of the dental system. The guard may be configured to prevent materials from being discharged from the dental system. In some embodiments, the guard may also be configured to direct the flow of material along a portion of the dental system. Some guards within the scope of this disclosure comprise bristles.
