Dental cleaner discharge guard systems and methods

Rotating dental systems and related guards and methods are disclosed. In some instances a guard may be configured to prevent material from building up on at least a portion of the dental system. The guard may be configured to prevent materials from being discharged from the dental system. In some embodiments, the guard may also be configured to direct the flow of material along a portion of the dental system. Some guards within the scope of this disclosure comprise bristles.

Dental tool and dental system

The invention relates to a dental tool having a shank region, which is formed for coupling to a dental handpiece, and also having a work region, which is connected to the shank region. In this case, the shank region of the dental tool is formed so that there is the possibility of latchable insertion and removal without actuation. In particular, at least the shank region can consist of plastics material. As a result, inter alia facilitated handling of the tool and inexpensive production of the tool are rendered possible.

The present invention is directed to a debridement and/or implant cleaning tool (1) in which the means for cleaning (4) is made of a biodegradable material. Thus, if parts of the means for cleaning (4) come loose during use, these will be degraded by natural processes in the body and will not remain in the body and cause negative body reactions.

DENTAL PROPHY ORBITER

A dental prophy orbiter is provided which includes a main housing having a shaft channel which receives a drive shaft configured to be coupled to a conventional dental rotating hand piece or to an angled portion which in turn is coupled to a hand piece. The main housing also includes a top surface with an centrally offset rod channel. The prophy orbiter also includes a polishing head coupled to the main housing for free, spinning rotational movement relative to the main housing. The polishing head includes a mounting rod configured to be rotationally received within the rod channel. The drive shaft is aligned along a longitudinal axis while the mounting rod is centrally offset, or axially or radially offset, from the drive shaft and the longitudinal axis along the drive shaft. A foam prophy pad is coupled to the mounting plate.

Electromagnetic Toothbrush

A magnetically controlled abrasive system (MCAS) having a magnetic system to manipulate a magnetically controlled unit is provided. More specifically, a track member is operatively coupled to a first magnetic unit and a first surface of a first body. The track member facilitates movement of the first magnetic unit with respect to the first body. A second body is positioned proximal to the first body. More specifically, at least one abrasive protrusion is operatively coupled to a second surface of the second body and a second magnetic unit is operatively coupled to the second body. The first magnetic unit generates a magnetic field which interacts with the second magnetic unit. The interaction controls movement of the second body including movement of the at least one abrasive protrusion positioned in communication with the second body.
