The installation (1) comprises a treatment machine (12) and a supply and positioning device (16) configured to receive the straws (2) and dispose them one by one in a predetermined orientation for their treatment by said machine. The device (16) comprises a curved ramp (52) having a reception portion (64) for the straws (2) and an ejection portion (65) for the straws, the ramp being configured to convey, to the ejection portion (65), a straw (2) received on the reception portion (64) and sliding on the ramp (52), the ramp having a concave profile such that said profile has an orientation closer to the vertical in the reception portion (64) than in the ejection portion (65), such that a straw received on the reception portion (64) is accelerated to the ejection portion (65) at which the straw is guided and ejected with a predetermined orientation.
INDIVIDUAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Provided is an individual management system that prevents confusion of ova, fertilized eggs, and the like to be used for treatment, and that is suitable for individual management of fertilized eggs and the like to be cryopreserved. This individual management system comprises: a server 11 installed in an appropriate location within a facility; a plurality of personal computers 13, 21; identification code readers 14, 22, 34 that are used at appropriate location within the facility; an identification code/IC tag reader 47; a device, instrument, implement, and container 41, 42, 43, 45 that are used to cryopreserve specimens, as necessary; and identification codes and IC tags 43d, 45c that are attached to at least the device, instrument, implement, and container. The device, instrument, implement, and container installed or used within the facility are interconnected via an intra-facility network 5, and further connected to a cloud server 71 via the Internet 6.
CRYOCONTAINER
A sealable container for preservation of a biological sample is provided. The container includes a cap comprising a proximal open and a lumen and an elongate body that extends from a handle portion to a specimen portion. A closure portion is disposed between the handle portion and the specimen portion, wherein the closure portion is configured to make surface to surface contact with the cap when the specimen portion is fully inserted within the lumen. The closure portion comprises an outer diameter that gradually decreases in a direction from the handle portion to the specimen portion. The specimen portion comprises a scooped portion where a distance between the upper surface and the lower surface is less than distances between the upper surface and the lower surface along remaining portions of the specimen portion, wherein the scooped portion is spaced proximally from a distal tip of the specimen portion.
Containers for liquid nitrogen storage of semen straws
Designs of improved canisters for animal semen straw storage in Dewars with cryogenic liquid are described. In some embodiments, the canisters include a layer of cryogen-absorbent material and an inner layer of thermally conductive material including apertures oriented and positioned to direct cryogen vapor into the interior of the container.

Provided is a cryopreservation container that prevents confusion of specimens to be used for treatment and that is suitable for individual management of fertilized eggs and the like to be cryopreserved. IC tags are attached to a cryopreservation tank 61, a canister 51, a cane 41, and cryopreservation containers such as an ovum storage container 1 and sperm storage containers 71, 81. The cryopreservation containers may also have individual identification codes attached hereto. An ovum storage container 11 is configured by fitting an IC tag 12 from the rear end of a rod-like part 2 of a conventional ovum storage container 1. In addition, the IC tag 12 is formed by providing an inlet 15 inside a thin-walled pipe 14 made of a synthetic resin. The inlet 15 may be fixed at both ends by means of fixing members 18, 18 composed of a nonconductive material, or may be integrally molded with a nonconductive synthetic resin material 20.

The invention relates to a straw comprising a tube (11) and a gas-permeable and liquid-tight stopper (12), said stopper (12) being arranged in the tube (11), close to an end (16). The invention is characterised in that the stopper (12) comprises an indicator component (20) having a first pre-determined colour in the absence of previous contact with said substance (21) and a second pre-determined colour, of a different shade from that of the first colour, once it has been in contact with said substance (21). The assembly comprises the straw (10) and a device (26) for controlling the filling of the straw.

IC tags are attached to a cryopreservation tank 61, a canister 51, a cane 41, and cryopreservation containers such as an ovum storage container 1 and sperm storage containers 71, 81. Straw filling device and machine comprising same
The straw (11) filling device comprises a casing body having a cavity (43) in which the needle (9) of a nozzle (7) is placed. The needle is inserted into the straw tube (12) received in the cavity. The casing body is attached to a carriage separately from the needle. The cavity comprises a distal opening located on the distal end side of the needle, a proximal opening located on the proximal end side of the needle, and a longitudinal opening extending from the distal opening to the proximal opening, thus enabling placement and removal of the needle in and out of the cavity in a direction transverse to the direction of the needle and preventing an adult finger accessing the distal end of the needle. The machine comprises a device of this type and a conveyor (2) designed to keep the straw tube in a filling position during each cycle.
