PROTECTIVE GARMENTS AND METHODS FOR USING SAME
20200258645 · 2020-08-13 ·

Disclosed herein are protective garments and methods for using the same. In one aspect, the garment includes a garment body configured to be worn on a portion of a wearer's body, the garment body comprising at least one protective segment configured to block a predetermined level of radiation. Also disclosed herein are method of making the disclosed garments and methods for using the disclosed garments.

Receiving apparatus and method, transmitting apparatus and method, and program
10741029 · 2020-08-11 · ·

The present disclosure relates to a receiving apparatus and method, a transmitting apparatus and method, and a program, which can vibrate a device in a specific area of a receiving area. An example, in which users wearing respective wearable receiving apparatuses are freely moving in the receiving area, is shown. A directional transmitting device unit transmits an area designation signal, and the reachable range of the signal is shown as a beam irradiation area. Only the user in the beam irradiation area receives the area designation signal transmitted by the directional transmitting device unit. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a video projection system that vibrates a receiving apparatus by transmission and reception of a directional wireless signal in the specific area where the video is projected.

Support shirt with sleeve reinforcement regions
10729187 · 2020-08-04 ·

A support shirt comprising a shirt body and a pair of shirt body sleeves positioned adjacent to an upper shirt body is provided. The sleeves are attached to the shirt body at sleeve body holes, with each of the sleeves including sleeve reinforcement regions extending at least a portion of the distance from the sleeve holes to an outer edge of the sleeves. The sleeve reinforcement regions extend substantially along a centerline extending longitudinally across the sleeves and the upper sleeve body to stabilize and provide support to the shoulders of a wearer during an upward lifting motion.

ATHLETIC PROTECTIVE WRAP
20200238156 · 2020-07-30 ·

An athletic protective wrap that properly secures, and maintains, a shin guard in position relative to a lower portion of a leg without permitting a plurality of protective pads to come into direct contact with a skin of a participant of an athletic activity. This is done through the utilization of the creation of an interlocking phenomenon of the plurality of protective pads, which is achieved through wrapping the athletic protective wrap around the lower leg of the participant of the athletic activity.

END OF SERVICE LIFE DETERMINATION FOR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
20200225189 · 2020-07-16 ·

Embodiments generally relate to personal protective equipment (PPE) (such as gloves, shoes/boots, hoods, protective clothing, etc.) for industrial applications. More specifically, the invention relates to using magnetic particles (e.g. incorporated within or attached/affixed to the PPE) so that a magnetic scan may be run to determine a change (e.g. decrease) in initial magnetic field signature (MFS) for the PPE). The change in MFS is used to determine end of service life of the PPE (such that the protective equipment should be retired or repaired).

PLATE CARRIER ABSORPTION OF SHOCK FROM MOVEMENT OF WEARER
20200166313 · 2020-05-28 ·

A plate carrier (such as a vest) is provided having shock absorption capabilities for absorbing shock in response to movement of a plate within the carrier resulting from movement of the wearer. The plate carrier can include a cradle that supports the plate within a pocket from underneath. Stretchable material may be incorporated into the cradle to provide shock absorption. For example, the cradle may include a limit strap hanging to form a first loop and a shock-absorption strap hanging to form a second loop spaced above the first loop. The shock-absorption strap may be formed from a material more stretchable than the limit strap, for example, so that the limit strap provides a limit of plate deflection and shock absorption provided.

IMPACT TRANSFER DEVICE
20200154798 · 2020-05-21 ·

An impact transfer device comprising a device body, an impact zone shield associated with a first body region, and at least one body contact associated with a second body region, each body contact comprising at least one contact surface, and at least one attachment structure configured to attach the impact transfer device to a person. At least a portion of a force applied to the impact surface is transferred to the second body region of the person through the contact surfaces.

WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION EXOSKELETON

A weight-distributing exoskeleton capable of supporting and/or control the distribution of at least part of the weight of a protective garment and/or face shield proximate the knee of the user. The exoskeleton may include a plurality of leg structures, each leg structure including a knee joint or knee hinge configured to bear the load of the protective garment, and a foot member including a magnetic quick release mechanism configured to control quickly engage with and release from the leg structures. The weight of the protective garment and/or face shield is transferred to the floor such that the user bears little to no burden of carrying it.

Bulletproof Binder
20200132417 · 2020-04-30 ·

A bulletproof binder may be operable to quickly transform into a wearable shield adaptable to protect a user against firearms projectiles or other weapons. The bulletproof binder may include a removable shield, front cover, rear cover, or spine, which may be made of bullet-resistant or bulletproof materials. The bulletproof binder may include a bulletproof wrap configured to fit around a user's waist, back, or another body part. The wrap may be an optional choice for users who want extra protection. Fasteners may allow removable shield, or another part of the bulletproof binder, to be removed, rearranged, used as a handheld shield, or used as an extension of a bulletproof vest type of configuration.

Gown with moisture contact indicator

A gown (100) includes a body covering (101) disposed between a first sleeve (102) and a second sleeve (103). The body covering portion includes a first layer (106) coupled to a second layer (107) by an adhesive (108) comprising a unactivated colorant, such as an unactivated dye (109). The unactivated colorant transitions to an activated colorant (201) when wet, and the second layer absorbs the activated colorant.
