PANT AND SHIRT FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
A pant for outdoor activities has inner sleeves sown inside the pant legs which inner sleeves have a tightening means for tightly wearing the inner sleeves over socks. A shirt for outdoor activities has inner sleeves sown inside the shirt sleeves which inner sleeves have a tightening means for tightly wearing the inner sleeves over gloves. The inner sleeves thereby reduce ingress of unwanted small animals and plant matter such as ticks, chiggers, mosquitos, black flies, deer flies, ants, spiders, hornets, wasps, bees, allergenic pollen, saps, and thorns. The inner sleeves are not visible in normal use so that the pant and the shirt for outdoor activities look like a common dress pant and a common dress shirt, respectively. The pant and the shirt for outdoor activities may be made of light-colored materials for better visibility of the unwanted small animals and plant matter to facilitate their removal.
Water Resistant Protective Garment
Protective garments are disclosed having a fabric material treated with a durable water resistant treatment. In accordance with the present disclosure, the durable water resistant treatment is substantially free of fluorocarbon chemicals and yet provides not only excellent water resistance, but also has excellent durability properties.
Ballistic vest carrier cover with pouches for hard armor
Hard armor plate pouches incorporated in a ballistic vest carrier cover that has armor panel pockets with side openings and waist panels. The pouches are attached to the carrier cover outer layer inside the armor pockets with access through the outer layer. In one configuration, the pouch is a single fabric sheet attached to the outer layer around the sheet perimeter. In another configuration, the pouch is a bag that hangs freely in the pocket. In another configuration, the pouch is a bag that hangs in the pocket from the shoulders and neck opening of the cover. The pouch is accessed via a lateral opening or a vertical opening in the outer layer that is closed by an openable fastener, such as a zipper, hook and loop fastener, or snaps. Optionally, the waist panels have side pouches that have openings at the side or the top.
Bullet Resistant Bifurcated Backpack Assembly
A fireproof, bullet resistant bifurcated backpack assembly provides a combination of a bullet resistant vest worn on the torso that absorbs the impact from projectiles and shrapnel, and a backpack that is worn across the back to carry items. The panels join as a backpack or bifurcate into a front panel for protecting the chest and a rear panel for protecting the back. The assembly comprises a first panel and a second panel, with the first panel adapted to cover the chest, the second panel adapted to cover the back. A fastening mechanism is operational along the junction between the panels. A bullet resistant armor material is integrated into each panel. At least one pocket forms in each panel. At least two straps extend from the rear panel. The straps serves the dual purpose of carrying the backpack, and tying the front and rear vests snugly around the torso.
Garment with altered stress profile
Included are articles such as garments including polymer film compositions to alter the stress profile of the garment which is exhibited during wear of the garment. The polymer film may be bonded to the fabric to provide a fabric/film laminate.
Protective ventilated suit with integral hood
A protective ventilated suit (10) is provided for protecting a user from environmental hazards. The suit (10) is a unitary construction and includes a unitary body portion (12), a unitary hood (14), and a releasable fastener system (16) for releasably connecting a front portion of the hood (14) to the body portion (12). The suit (10) includes a pair of donning openings (42) extending from opposite sides of a neck opening (40) across a shoulder covering part (48) of the body portion (12) to allow a user to don the suit (10).
SAFETY VEST FOR USE IN WORKER PROTECTION SYSTEMS
Systems and methods are provided for worker protection. A safety vest may be configured to support worker protection receiver function in worker protection systems. Components used in conjunction with the receiver functions may be integrated into the safety vest. The components may include one or more antennas, radio receiver (or transceiver) circuitry, integrated power supply source, indication components, and acknowledgement components. The safety vest may generate safety alerts in response to receiving signals from peer transmitter devices in the worker protection systems.
Adsorbent materials and methods of making and use thereof
Disclosed are adsorbent materials that comprise a porous material having a continuous silica phase coated with a carbon layer, and a water-insoluble precipitate comprising a metal cation and an anion disposed substantially evenly throughout the adsorbent material. In some examples, the plurality of pores can have an average characteristic dimension of from 0.1 to 100 . The water-insoluble precipitate can be formed in the plurality of pores of the porous material by contacting the porous material with a first aqueous solution comprising a metal cation; and contacting the porous material with a second aqueous solution comprising an anion; wherein the metal cation and the anion combine to form the water-insoluble precipitate in the plurality of pores of the porous material, thereby forming the adsorbent material.
PROTECTIVE CUFF WITH ANTI-WICKING, PARTICULATE, AND/OR FLUID ENTRY PROTECTION
A protective cuff is fixed in a pant leg or sleeve of a protective garment. The protective cuff includes a fluid/particulate/water dam fixed around an interior circumference of a pant leg or sleeve of a protective garment at an attachment location that is spaced upwardly from a lowermost hem of the pant leg or sleeve. The dam includes a resilient opening to surround and snuggly engage another wearable piece of protective equipment or a wearer's limb received in the opening. A length of loose material extends from the attachment location to the resilient opening to surround the wearable piece of protective equipment or the wearer's limb received in the opening. An anti-wicking guard extends from the lowermost hem to the attachment location and surrounding the interior of the pant leg or sleeve.
SAFETY WORK APPAREL
Safety apparel for traversing a roof surface includes an outer fabric surface over which a readily abradable pattern of raised elastomeric members is applied. The apparel is sized and configured to fit over worn clothing such as blue jeans, permit the easy passing through of worn shoes, and includes cinching members to snug the apparel over the worn clothing. Interior surfaces of the apparel may also include an applied pattern of raised elastomeric members.
