A method of use can include passing a distal tip of the elongate tubular body into the bladder. The implant can be inflated and released into the bladder.
MEDICAL IMPLANTS AND FABRICATION OF MEDICAL IMPLANTS
The present invention discloses a biomechanically compatible implant, wherein arbitrary selectable discrete locations of the implant are defined to exhibit biomechanical characteristics in accordance with biomechanical characteristics at arbitrary selectable discrete locations of a bodily tissue where the respective arbitrary selectable discrete locations of the implant are configured to be attached. The implant may be configured to repair prolapse in an embodiment. In another embodiment, the implant may be configured to repair urinary incontinence. The present invention further discloses a device for generating a biomechanical characteristics pattern of the bodily tissue and the implant. The present invention further discloses a system for designing and fabricating the biomechanically compatible implant.
FEMALE URINARY INCONTINENCE DEVICE
A device is provided for applying pressure on a vaginal wall of a female subject, said device being configured for insertion into a vaginal cavity of said female subject. The device includes a first deformable element, a second deformable element and a transmission element. The first deformable element has a resting-state and at least one deformed state and is configured for undergoing deformation in response to an inner body pressure. When in the resting state, the first deformable element is configured to anchor the device inside the vaginal cavity. The second deformable element has a resting-state and at least one deformed state, and is configured for undergoing deformation to apply a second pressure on the vaginal wall, such second pressure being operable to narrow a urethral portion the female subject. The transmission element has a first end connected to the first deformable element and a second end connected to the second deformable element, and is configured for converting the deformation of the first deformable element to a deformation of the second deformable element, and for returning the first and second deformable elements to their respective resting states.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FIXATION OF IMPLANTABLE DEVICES ADJACENT A BODY LUMEN
The present application relates to method and apparatus for reducing migration and rotation of implantable devices including an expandable element and an elongate portion.
METHOD OF REMOVING AN INFLATED IMPLANT FROM A BLADDER
An inflated implant, such as an attenuation device, previously implanted in a urinary bladder can later be removed according to a number of different methods. Preferably, removal is accomplished transurethrally. In one embodiment, removal is accomplished by reducing the inflated implant from an enlarged profile to a reduced profile so that it may be withdrawn transurethrally by a removal system. The removal system can be configured differently depending upon whether reduction from the enlarged profile to the reduced profile is accomplished by deflation, compression, and/or other ways.

The pump assembly is configured to transfer fluid from the fluid reservoir to the inflatable member in response to the implantable device being in an inflation mode, and the pump assembly configured to transfer the fluid from the inflatable member to the fluid reservoir in response to the implantable device being in a deflation mode. The pump assembly includes an electronic control module, an electronically powered pump, a first valve, and a second valve. The electronic control module is configured to activate or deactivate the electronically powered pump.
Implantable medical system
An implantable system for managing urinary incontinence includes a sling with an elongate body member having a proximal portion, a distal portion and an intermediate portion. The intermediate portion is configured to be positioned underneath urethra of a subject for providing an adequate support to prevent leakage of urine during a stress event. A pressure sensor communicatively coupled with the elongated body member is configured to be positioned in an abdominal cavity and adapted to sense an increase in intra-abdominal pressure. The pressure sensor generates a first signal that is indicative of a change in the intra-abdominal pressure upon occurrence of the stress event. A processing circuit processes the first signal sensed by the pressure sensor and generates a second signal causing an adjustment of tensioning force in the elongate body member thereby changing magnitude of a supporting force to the urethra.
