EMBOLIC FILTER SYSTEM
20190374328 · 2019-12-12 ·

Various aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward an embolic filter system. The embolic filter system generally includes a filter and an elongated element. In some examples, the elongate element extends to a position distal to a proximal end of the filter and operates to protect against medical devices entangling with the filter. In some examples, the elongate element is soft and compliant and operates with a hemostatic seal to provide for a hemostatic seal within a lumen of the elongate element while maintaining the lumen as a working lumen through which medical devices can be passed.

Configuration and method for fixation of a filter to a catheter

An attachment configuration for a vascular filter assembly including a self-expanding filter member attached to a catheter body and constrained from expansion in a first configuration by a constraining sheath is presented. The attachment configuration includes an outer tube of material that is overlaid over an end of the filter member and bonded to the catheter body through cutouts disposed through the end of the filter member.

Reduced profile central venous access catheter with vena cava filter and method

A central access vena cava filter catheter having a multi-lumen catheter body with plural longitudinally extending parallel lumens within the single catheter body, a vena cava filter member disposed at a distal end of the catheter body and an outer sheath concentrically disposed about the multi-lumen catheter body and the vena cava filter member. The vena cava filter member may be removably coupled to the multi-lumen catheter for temporary placement and retrieval under recommended indications.

PEDAL ACCESS EMBOLIC FILTERING SHEATH

A filtering sheath includes an elongated tubular member defined by a circumferential wall and having a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The distal end has a plurality of slits extending through the circumferential wall, the plurality of slits defining an expandable filter region. The plurality of slits are arranged in a pattern that allows the expandable filter region to move between a first, contracted configuration, and a second, expanded configuration.

Method of treating a patient using a retrievable transcatheter prosthetic heart valve

A method for replacing a patient's native heart valve includes delivering a prosthetic valve at the cardiovascular site from a collapsed delivery configuration to an expanded configuration, testing a performance characteristic of the prosthetic valve, at least partially reversing the deployment of the prosthetic valve, repositioning the prosthetic valve, and re-deploying the prosthetic valve.

A catheter device for transvascular delivery of a medical device to a cardiac valve region of a patient comprises an elongate sheath with a first lumen, a distal end for positioning at a heart valve, a second lumen that extends parallel to or in the sheath, and an expandable embolic protection filter. The filter is arranged to extend from an orifice of the second lumen and, in the expanded, covers ostia of the side branch vessels in the aortic arch.

EMBOLIC PROTECTION DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
20190282354 · 2019-09-19 ·

Devices and methods for providing protection from embolisms and microembolisms in a subject undergoing catheter-based intravascular procedures. The embolic protection devices have an expandable support frame comprising U-shaped members and leg members which facilitate proper placements in a defective valve annulus. The filtering devices expand in the vessels and allow blood flow to continue through the vessels, thereby catching and removing debris of the flowing blood. Also disclosed are embolic protection devices for use with a sutureless valve prosthesis which is implanted via catheter-based methods.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING A CAROTID ARTERY

Systems and methods are adapted for treating the carotid artery. The systems include interventional catheters and blood vessel access devices that are adapted for transcervical insertion into the carotid artery. Embodiments of the systems and methods can be used in combination with embolic protection systems including blood flow reversal mechanisms, arterial filters, and arterial occlusion devices.

Retrievable Transcatheter Cardiovascular Prosthetic Aortic Heart Valve

An implantable prosthetic valve has an in situ formable support structure. The valve comprises a prosthetic valve, having a base and at least one flow occluder. A first flexible component is incapable of retaining the valve at a functional site in the arterial vasculature. The first component extends proximally of the base of the valve. A second flexible component is incapable of retaining the valve at a functional site in the arterial vasculature. The second component extends distally of the base of the valve. At least one rigidity component combines with at least one of the first and second flexible components to impart sufficient rigidity to the first or second components to retain the valve at the site.
