UROLOGICAL IMPLANT HAVING EXTRACTION HANDLE AND/OR ARCHED MEMBERS
Embodiments of a Urological implant include an implant with an elongated body having a longitudinal axis. Optionally longitudinal ribs symmetrically oppose each other and are connected to elongated body. The longitudinal ribs are optionally elastically shiftable between a collapsed state and an expanded state relative to the spinal longitudinal axis, in order to retract or/and support periurethral tissue. Optionally the system includes an implant extraction handle. The extraction handle is optionally positioned proximally to the elongated body and connected to the longitudinal rib and subject to a pulling force to facilitate and/or force approximation of the longitudinal supports to the longitudinal axis. In some embodiments, an implant body includes longitudinally spaced arched members, interconnected via arch ends sequentially along a length of a first and second longitudinal rib. Optionally the arched members are elastically bendable to facilitate elastic contractibility of the implant body under a transverse compressive force.

An implantable ureteral stent for implanting in the ureter comprising a first end for placing in the renal pelvis and a second end for placing in the bladder, each said end including a pressure sensor arranged to measure urinary pressure. Each pressure sensor can include an electronic circuit with electronic components and a substrate for receiving the electronic circuit and electronic components, wherein said substrate is a flexible membrane. The flexible membrane can be a sleeve surrounding the stent or the flexible membrane can be a flexible tube that is part of a thin tube that forms the stent, in particular the flexible membrane may have a thickness of 80-150 μm. The electronic components can be connected by wire-bonding. Each pressure sensor can have a flexible PCB having soldered electronic components. A manufacturing method is disclosed to make said implantable ureteral stent.
ORGAN FOR TRANSPLANTATION AND ORGAN STRUCTURE
An organ for transplantation having a kidney, a ureter, and a urinary bladder and an organ structure in which a first ureter, a first urinary bladder, a second ureter and a second urinary bladder are sequentially connected to a kidney can produce urine and excrete the produced urine, and thus is useful for transplantation.
Percutaneous Urinary Catheter
A percutaneous urinary catheter configured to be deployed in a urinary tract, including: (a) a proximal portion; and (b) a distal portion including a retention portion configured to be deployed in a kidney and/or a renal pelvis, the retention portion including one or more drainage holes leading to one or more lumen(s) within the proximal portion, wherein the retention portion, when deployed, defines a three-dimensional shape sized and positioned to maintain patency of fluid flow between the kidney and/or renal pelvis and a proximal end of the catheter by inhibiting mucosal tissue from appreciably occluding the one or more drainage holes when negative pressure is applied through the catheter.
Stents with bladder retention members
A medical device including an elongate member having a distal end portion, a proximal end portion, and a medial portion disposed between the distal end portion an the proximal end portion. The proximal end portion is configured to be disposed within a bladder of a patient. A portion of the proximal end portion is configured to contact an inner wall of the bladder to help retain the bladder in an expanded configuration.
Bend limiting access sheath
The present invention is an access sheath comprising a tube or sheath with a passageway primarily for endoscopic procedures accessing the ureter through the bladder. The sheath has a bend limiting feature to limit the bend angle or bend radius. The sheath exhibits flexibility up to this limit at which point it becomes rigid. Excessive force is required to bend the sheath beyond the bend limit and would result in the kinking of the tubular frame.
WIRE RETENTION AND RELEASE MECHANISMS
Devices for delivering and deploying a prosthesis are disclosed and comprise a sheath, a prosthesis disposed within a distal end portion of the sheath, and a wire having a first end coupled to the prosthesis and a second end coupled to the sheath. A body portion of the wire comprises a slack in the wire, and the sheath, prosthesis, and wire are configured so that a proximal movement of the sheath relative to the prosthesis reduces the slack in the wire, and a subsequent proximal movement of the sheath relative to the prosthesis decouples the wire from the prosthesis. Additional devices, systems, and methods are disclosed.
STENT AND CORRESPONDING INSERTION DEVICE
A stent comprising a hollow tubular body, for instance made of polymeric material, extending along and about a longitudinal axis between two opposite open axial ends and having a substantially cylindrical lateral wall delimiting a longitudinal inner conduit; the body comprising a plurality of deformable sections arranged in succession along the axis; each section comprises a plurality of longitudinal portions of the lateral wall and a plurality of radial cuts formed through the lateral wall and which separate the longitudinal portions from one another.
Elongate medical device
An elongate medical device is provided. The device includes an elongate member defining a lumen through proximal, central, and distal portions. The central portion of the elongate member is defined from a plurality of closely aligned coils that establish the lumen within the central portion. The central portion further comprises a jacket disposed around a majority of an outer circumference of the plurality of coils, the jacket defining opposing first and second longitudinal edges that extend along the length of the central portion, and an elongate gap between opposing first and second longitudinal edges exposing portions of each of the plurality of coils aligned therewith, wherein the elongate gap allows for fluid communication from within or into the lumen through spaces between neighboring coils and through the elongate gap.
