MESENCHYMAL STROMAL CELLS AND USES RELATED THERETO
The present invention generally relates to novel preparations of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) derived from hemangioblasts, methods for obtaining such MSCs, and method sof treating a pathology using such MSCs. The methods of the present invention produce substantial numbers of MSCs having a potency-retaining youthful phenotype, which are useful in the treatment of pathologies.
METHOD AND A SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING SHAPE AND APPEARANCE INFORMATION OF AN OCULAR PROSTHESIS FOR A PATIENT, A COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT, AND A CONFORMER
A method and a system for determining shape and appearance information of an ocular prosthesis for a patient, a computer program product and a conformer are provided. The method includes generating shape information for the ocular prosthesis, determining the shape of the ocular prosthesis depending on said shape information, generating appearance information for the ocular prosthesis by capturing an image of a patient's eye, and fusing the shape and the appearance information. Determining the shape of the ocular prosthesis includes determining the shape based on a shape model or determining the shape by generating shape information of an existing patient-specific prosthesis and transforming it into a uniform shape representation, and/or generating appearance information includes performing at least one of an inhomogeneous illumination correction and a color characterization being performed with same or similar viewing conditions as a color characterization of a device used for the manufacturing of the ocular prosthesis.
Ocular prosthesis with display device
An ocular prosthesis includes a display device visible at an anterior portion of the ocular prosthesis. The display device is configured to present a changeable image that represents a natural appearance and movement for a visible portion of an eyeball of a subject. A system includes, besides the ocular prosthesis, an implant marker configured to move with an orbital implant disposed in an eye socket of a subject. A method includes determining a change in orientation of an orbital implant in a subject and determining an update to a natural appearance for a visible portion of an eyeball for the subject based on the change in orientation of the orbital implant. The method also includes rendering an update to an image of the natural appearance for a display device disposed in an ocular prosthesis configured to be inserted in the subject anterior to the orbital implant.
Intraocular system for transmitting data and power optically to an implant
An intraocular system that includes a headset that optically transmits data and power to an implant. The headset includes a camera to capture image data that includes a visual representation of an environment of the headset and an optical transmitter to transmit the image data as an optical signal into a cornea of an eye of a user when the user is wearing the headset. The implant includes an optical receiver to receive the optical signal through the cornea and an image formation device orientated to present the image data from the optical signal onto a retina of the eye when the implant is inside the eye.
