A security scanning method, system, and computer program product, includes receiving a communication of information from a medical device associated with a traveler via a security device and triggering a sending of the information to the device and storing the information in a blockchain.
Method for Producing A Collagen Membrane and Uses Thereof
The present invention relates to a method of producing a collagen membrane that has particular mechanical properties. In particular, the present invention relates to a method A of producing a collagen membrane comprising the steps of (i) isolating a collagen-containing tissue and incubating same in an ethanol solution; (ii) incubating the collagen-containing tissue from step (i) in a first solution comprising an inorganic salt and an anionic surfactant in order to denature non-collagenous proteins contained therein; (iii) incubating the collagen-containing tissue produced in step (ii) in a second solution comprising an inorganic acid until the collagen in said material is denatured; and (iv) incubating the collagen-containing tissue produced in step (iii) in a third solution comprising an inorganic acid with simultaneous mechanical stimulation for sufficient time to enable the collagen bundles in said collagen-containing tissue to align; wherein the mechanical stimulation comprises applying tension cyclically to the collagen-containing tissue.
MONOLITHIC COMPONENT FOR AN IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE
A monolithic implantable medical device component includes multiple portions on a single substrate. The portions can be electrically connected to an electronics module, which may include output connectors and input connectors to and from the various portions of the substrate. A portion of the monolithic component to be disposed within, attached to, embedded in, or otherwise combined with a magnet retention feature, such as a plate.
Apparatus for treatment of menière's disease
An inner ear fluid circulation system includes an implantable circulation pump that has a pump inlet and a pump outlet both in fluid communication with inner ear fluid of an implanted patient. The circulation pump is configured to drive the inner ear fluid in from the pump inlet and out through the pump outlet. A pump controller is coupled to the circulation pump and one or more sensing elements for measurement of one or more fluid conditions within the inner ear of the implanted patient, and is configured to control operation of the circulation pump as a function of the measured one or more fluid conditions. Also disclosed is a cochlear implant arrangement and a vestibular implant arrangement comprising such a fluid circulation system.
LENGTH-ADJUSTABLE OSSICULAR PROSTHESIS HAVING IN-SITU ELONGATION OUT OF THE HEAD PLATE
An ossicular prosthesis has a first fastening element for mechanical contact with the tympanic membrane, and a second fastening element for connecting to a member of the ossicular chain, and a connecting element which connects the fastening elements and which has rib elements which can be spread radially outwards and thereby shorten the axial length of the ossicular prosthesis. The rib elements lead directly into coupling regions of the first fastening element and into a coupling element which is rigidly connected to the second fastening element. When a force is introduced in parallel with the longitudinal axis in the direction, the rib elements assume a position located radially further from the longitudinal axis, and shorten the functional length of the prostheses, or increase with the introduction of an antiparallel force.
Tympanic membrane repair device
A method for repairing a perforation in a tympanic membrane comprising attaching a single patch to an undersurface of the tympanic membrane covering the perforation.
EAR IMPLANT
The invention relates to an ear implant for improving or restoring the hearing ability in the event of defects in the area of the ossicles of the ear or posterior wall of the auditory canal, said implant consisting of lithium disilicate glass ceramic having a molar ratio of SiO.sub.2 to Li.sub.2O of 2 to 3, wherein the glass ceramic material being doped and stabilized with P.sub.2O.sub.5 and ZrO.sub.2, as well as a method for the production of the implant and the use of lithium disilicate glass ceramics in ear implants.
Systems and Methods for Wirelessly Transmitting Power and Data to an Implantable Stimulator
A system includes an interface assembly and electronic circuitry. The interface assembly is configured to receive DC power and a self-clocking differential signal comprising a data signal encoded with a clock signal at a clock frequency. The electronic circuitry is configured to recover, from the self-clocking differential signal, the data signal and the clock signal at the clock frequency, and to generate, based on the recovered clock signal at the clock frequency, a synthesized clock signal at a carrier frequency. The electronic circuitry is also configured to use the synthesized clock signal to wirelessly transmit, to an implantable stimulator implanted within a recipient, AC power based on the DC power and forward telemetry data based on the recovered data signal. Corresponding systems, methods, and devices are also disclosed.
Tegmen plate prosthesis and methods for manufacturing and using the same
Prosthetic tegmen plates are provided. The prosthetic tegmen plates include a body that defines at least one engagement surface that substantially conforms to a region of a corresponding surface of a subject's temporal bone having a tegmen defect. The prosthetic tegmen plates are configured to cover the tegmen defect. Methods for manufacturing prosthetic tegmen plates by additive manufacturing and surgically implanting prosthetic tegmen plates are also provided.
Magnet support of an implant
An implantable prosthesis, including an implantable component including an implantable magnet assembly, wherein the magnet assembly includes a magnet plated with a metallic substance, the magnet assembly includes a housing made at least in part of a polymer, wherein at least a portion of the housing made out of the polymer is in direct contact with the metallic substance, and the implantable component is configured to be implanted in a human such that the housing is exposed to body fluids thereof.
