Residential water utilization tracking
Disclosed embodiments can provide a system and method for controlling irrigation schedules for a sprinkler system for at least one irrigation zone. The embodiments include automatically updating irrigation schedules based at least in part on watering restriction data from a water authority, such as a water utility authority, and water usage data for a property including the at least one irrigation zone.
FLOW RATE CONTROL DEVICE
An operator is able to easily perform down-tuning while still achieving superior responsiveness and, in some cases, obtain an equivalent responsiveness as that obtained from the flow rate control device currently being used. In a flow rate control device that performs feedback control of a fluid control valve such that a measured flow rate closely approximates a target flow rate, there are provided a response lag input section that inputs a response lag set value, which is a value showing a response lag that an operator wishes to set, and a response lag generating section that generates response lags used in the feedback control in accordance with the response lag set values.
CANOPY TREATMENT SYSTEM
A canopy treatment system to treat plants is disclosed. In one implementation according to examples of the present disclosure, a canopy treatment system comprises a hot fluid generating system configured to heat a fluid, the hot fluid generating system including a canopy valve; and a canopy in fluid communication with the hot fluid generating system, the canopy defining a treatment region, the canopy valve of the hot fluid generating system selectively positionable to control fluid flow between the hot fluid generating system and the canopy.
Low cost radio frequency identification (RFID) dispensing systems
A radio frequency identification (RFID) dispenser that includes low cost electronic components that can read and write to the tag of a refill cartridge. In one embodiment, the reader utilizes a multi band pass filter to convert the radio frequency identification into a digital signal that is processed by a controller to perform a dispensing function representative to the code of the tag. In another embodiment, the controller utilizes an internal comparator to convert the radio frequency identification into a digital signal that is processed by a controller to perform a dispensing function representative to the code of the tag. The dispenser in both embodiments also includes a pair of transistors that write to the RFID tag of the refill cartridge. A dispenser according to the invention also includes the capability to read and/or write to tags upon cartridges employed by the dispenser, and augmenting the operation of the dispenser as a function thereof. Additionally, a dispenser of variable size is presented that is adaptable, through adjustable partitions or a telescoping cup, to receive and maintain cartridges of various sizes.
MOISTURE MANAGEMENT & PERENNIAL CROP SUSTAINABILITY DECISION SYSTEM
Disclosed herein are a system and method that integrate vineyard sensor data into an environment that enables analysis, historical trend analytics, spatio-temporal analytics, and weather model fusion for improved decision making from vineyard management to wine production. The integration of new sensor data from multiple soil depths with surface measurements, combined with production flow process and historical information enables new decision making capabilities. A wireless network of sensor/transmitters can be distributed to provide a 3-dimensional assessment of water movement both across the grower's field and as it moves from the surface through the root zone. The soil monitoring data stream feeds into a visualization interface that will be incorporated in software based decision aid and crop management tool that helps agricultural producers reduce costs, minimize water and nutrient applications, and better protect the environment by reducing agricultural production inputs.
Cross contamination control systems with fluid product ID sensors
A crossover protection system including a product transport vehicle having a tank compartment for containing a liquid product, a fluid property sensor positioned to contact liquid product stored in the tank compartment, a system controller, and a valve coupled to the tank compartment. The valve regulates a flow of liquid product from the tank compartment and has a normally locked state. The system controller may compare a received transported liquid type signal from the fuel property sensor indicative of the type of liquid product in the tank compartment and compare the type of liquid product to a stored liquid product type. If the two types match, the crossover protection controller transitions the valve to an unlocked state to allow the liquid product to unload from the tank compartment. If the two types do not match, the crossover protection controller will disable the valve from transitioning to the unlocked state.
VALVE ELEMENT AND FLUID CONTROL VALVE
In order to provide a fluid control valve less likely to cause contamination, and a fluid control apparatus using the fluid control valve, at least any one of a valve seat member and a valve body member is one including a base body made of metal; and a resin layer that covers the surface of the base body to form a valve seat surface or a seating surface, in which the resin layer is directly chemically bonded to the base body.
Flow management systems and related methods for oil and gas applications
A flow management system includes an adjustable compactor configured for attachment to a wall surface of a conduit and being adjustable between an extended configuration and a reference configuration, an electric actuator in fluid communication with the adjustable compactor, and a control module. The control module is configured to control the electric actuator to flow a current to the adjustable compactor to generate an electric field that causes extension of the adjustable compactor for compacting a flow blockage within the conduit to create a channel adjacent the flow blockage and to terminate a flow of the current to remove the electric field at the adjustable compactor to cause the adjustable compactor to return to the reference configuration for opening the channel to a fluid flow within the conduit.
Method for Controlling a Compressor Installation
A method for controlling a compressor system comprising a plurality of compressors, wherein the compressor system is intended to maintain a predefined excess pressure in a pressurized fluid system, wherein decisions are met at fixed or variable intervals as to switching operations for adapting the system to current conditions, wherein —in a pre-selecting step, switching alternatives are excluded from the plurality of combinatorially available switching alternatives, —in a main selecting step, remaining switching alternatives are weighed against one another while referring to one or more optimization criterion (criteria) and optimum switching alternatives are selected from among the given criteria, and —in a control step, the selected switching alternative is output for implementation in the compressor system.
Method and apparatus for the automatic regulation of the irrigation of plants
The invention relates to a method for the automatic irrigation of plants, wherein the temporal progression of soil moisture is determined from measured soil moisture values, and said progression is used for the calculation of an optimized irrigation time duration, such that both water excess in the soil and soil drying are avoided as much as possible. Preferably, the time duration of irrigation is constantly evaluated and optimized using comparisons of measured values with prespecified moisture- and dryness threshold values (GWmoist, GWdry), and automatically adjusted to changing environmental conditions and/or plant requirements.
