Fluid Metering System

A fluid metering system for accurately measuring and dosing one or more fluids. The fluid metering system generally includes a closed loop feedback system that monitors the volume of liquid chemical input into a system over a period of time. Based on the measured amount of chemical input into a system over a period of time, the system calculates whether or not an adjustment is required for the next input of chemical. The various embodiments utilize a measuring tube that is filled with a liquid chemical. A pressure sensor measures the pressure of the chemical in the measuring tube when filled and after emptied to calculate the total volume of chemical input into the system.

Versatile systems for continuous in-line blending of butane and petroleum

A system and method are provided for in-line processes of blending butane into gasoline streams, and for blending butane into a gasoline stream at any point along a petroleum pipeline. The invention additionally provides a method for measuring the vapor pressure and vapor to liquid ratio of the gasoline, both upstream and downstream of the blending operation, as well as the sulfur content of the butane entering the blending operation. The blending operation can be controlled to ensure that the blended gasoline meets EPA requirements for vapor pressure and sulfur content of gasoline. The invention further provides a method for accessing and monitoring the operation off-site.

This application with regard to an apparatus of mixing a compressed air foam is disclosed. The disclosed application includes a first mixing unit that receives fire water and an undiluted foam solution, and adjusts an inflow of the undiluted foam solution so that a supply amount of the undiluted foam solution is adjusted in proportion to a supply amount of the fire water, and mixes the received fire water and undiluted foam solution to produce a foam aqueous solution; and a second mixing unit that mixes a compressed gas with a foam aqueous solution produced in the first mixing unit to produce a compressed air foam.

Plural component proportioning system and method

A plural component dispensing system 10 receives separate fluid components, mixes the components in a predetermined ratio, and dispenses the components as mixture. Each fluid component is supplied by a separate pump 12A, 12B to an individual variably controllable fluid regulator 14A, 14B. Each fluid component is supplied from its individual fluid regulator 14A, 14B through a flow meter 18A, 18B to a mixing device 20. The ratio of the components delivered to the mixing device 20 is controlled by the individual fluid regulators 14A, 14B based upon the flow rates measured by the flow meters 18A, 18B.

Controlled blending of biodiesel into distillate streams

Methods are provided for accurately blending biodiesel into distillate streams to achieve a pre-determined percentage of biodiesel in the distillate, applicable to wild-type distillate streams as well as distillate streams that already contain some percentage of biodiesel.

Gas-mixing power systems and methods for operating power systems

A power system includes a power source, field gas supply, and natural gas supply, and is operable using a gas mixture comprising field gas from the field gas supply and natural gas from the natural gas supply. A ratio of field gas to natural gas is adjusted based on sensed property of the field and/or natural gas, change in a condition of the field and/or natural gas, measured emissions from the power source, predicted emissions from the power source, and/or direct/indirect feedback from the power source. A method for operating a power system includes: connecting a mixing gas line and a field gas line to a power source at work site; determining a ratio of mixing gas to field gas; combining mixing gas from the mixing gas line and field gas from the field gas line based on the determined ratio; and operating the power source with the combined gases.

POWDER FEED CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD

Powder feed rate control system that includes a hopper adapted to contain a powder and to maintain a hopper pressure. A carrier conduit delivers a carrier gas flow and having an orifice. The carrier gas flow conveys powder entering through the orifice at a powder feed rate. A differential pressure transducer includes a first pressure input associated with the hopper pressure and a second pressure input associated with the carrier gas flow downstream of the hopper. The differential pressure transducer (PT) outputs a signal related to a differential pressure between the first pressure input and the second pressure input. An electro pneumatic regulator (EP) is adapted to communicate with a control and receiving the signal related to the differential pressure.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ODORIZING NATURAL GAS

The present disclosure provides a system and method for odorizing natural gas flowing through a distribution pipeline. The system includes a bypass line adjacent to a distribution pipeline, wherein bypass gas flows through the bypass line and an odorant tank connected to the bypass line, and into the distribution pipeline; a high-flow control valve and a low-flow control valve in the bypass line, wherein bypass gas flows through the odorant tank into the distribution pipeline when the high-flow control valve or the low-flow control valve is open; and a programmable logic controller connected to the high-flow and low flow control valve; wherein the programmable logic controller opens the high-flow or low-flow control valve for a predetermined dwell time proportional to an amount of bypass gas needed to odorize gas in the distribution pipeline each time that a preselected quantity of gas flows through the distribution pipeline.

MEDICAL VAPORIZER WITH CARRIER GAS CHARACTERIATION, MEASUREMENT, AND/OR COMPENSATION
20180272098 · 2018-09-27 ·

A medical vaporizer is provided. In one embodiment, dual-purpose sensors are employed, such as in a configuration in which one is positioned in the mixed gas flow channel and one is positioned in the main gas flow channel. The sensors provide measurements that may be used to determine both gas flow and gas concentration in the mixed and main gas channels, even when the identity and/or properties of the gas in the main gas channel are unknown. The measurements derived from the dual-purpose sensors may be used to measure and report the total anesthetic being delivered at the vaporizer output and/or improve vaporizer accuracy.
