A pressure regulating valve comprises a valve housing comprising a pressure-regulating chamber having an inlet for high pressure fluid and an outlet for pressure-regulated fluid, and a valve element received in the pressure-regulating chamber and movable axially therein for regulating the pressure of the fluid passing from the inlet to the outlet. The valve element comprises a regulating element having a regulator head slidably and sealingly received in the valve housing, the regulating element extending into the regulating chamber, at least one spring, and an adjustment head for adjusting an initial compression of the at least one spring within the regulating chamber. The at least one spring is integrally formed with and extends between the regulator head and the adjustment head.

An externally adjustable pressure regulator includes a body having a shoulder, a longitudinal axis and a high pressure inlet. The body has an opening along a side. A bonnet has a regulated pressure outlet and is engaged with the body. A piston is positioned in part in the body and the bonnet. The piston has a shoulder, a longitudinal bore and a transverse bore at about the end thereof in flow communication with the longitudinal bore. A spring is disposed on the piston. A wedging element is positioned in the opening in the body side and is in contact with the spring. An adjusting ring engages the wedging element to move it into the spring to increase compression of the spring and off of the spring to decrease compression. Increasing compression of the spring increases a spring force of the spring on the piston and decreasing compression of the spring decreases the spring force on the piston.

The pressure regulator includes a main body including an inner cavity bounded by an interior wall, a piston disposed in the inner cavity, the piston including a first channel disposed adjacent a first portion, wherein the first portion is adapted to cooperate with the interior wall to form a seal between the piston and the interior wall, a first biasing device disposed in the first channel, wherein the first biasing device is adapted to exert a force on the first portion of the piston to form a seal between the first portion and the interior wall, and an end cap coupled to the main body thereby enclosing the piston to form an outlet pressure chamber.

Pressure regulator and gas storage device with the same

A pressure regulator has a valve tube assembly, a gas-input assembly, a first regulating assembly and a second regulating assembly. The gas storage device has a storage unit and the pressure regulator. By the first and the second regulating assemblies, the effect of adjusting down the gas pressure is achieved to maintain the safety of use. The pressure regulator is partially embedded in the gas storage unit to reduce the overall volume of the gas storage device. However, the high-pressure piston chamber of the valve tube assembly communicates with the outside of the gas storage unit through the high-pressure gas channel to maintain the normal operation of the elastic element in the high-pressure piston chamber.

The press-fit portion has a spherical shape.
