Sizing methods for a valved conduit graft
A sizing tool for use in implanting a composite valved conduit having a prosthetic heart valve on a distal end attached to a conduit graft that extends to a proximal end. The tool includes a proximal handle and a distal shaft, a prosthetic heart valve sizer having an axis affixed to a distal end of the shaft, and a conduit graft replica having an axis mounted on the shaft proximal to the heart valve sizer. A method of securing a composite valved conduit includes introducing to an excised ascending aorta the sizing tool, measuring the aortic annulus with the prosthetic heart valve sizer, and determining whether the coronary arteries have sufficient length or whether an additional tubular coronary extension segment is required to add to one or both of the ends of the coronary arteries by extending the coronary arteries toward the conduit graft replica.
Aortic valve and conduit graft implant tool
Epicardial Clip
An epicardial clip for reshaping the annulus of the mitral valve of a heart includes a curved member having an anterior segment configured to be positioned in the transverse sinus of the heart, a posterior segment configured to be positioned on the posterior side of the heart, such as on or inferior to the atrioventricular groove, and a lateral segment extending between the anterior segment and the posterior segment. The lateral segment includes a curve such that the first end of the member is positioned at or above the plane of the mitral valve and the second end of the member is positioned at or below the plane of the mitral valve.
Equipment for Preparing Valve Leaflet from Membrane
A device prepares leaflets for cardiovascular valve reconstruction from a pericardial tissue sheet harvested from a patient. A cutter is adapted to cut a predetermined pattern having a selected leaflet size. A tissue marker automatically aligned with the predetermined cutting pattern is configured to mark suture positions on the leaflet in response to placement of the cutter. Cutting of a leaflet from the tissue sheet and marking of suture positions on the leaflet are obtained concurrently. A set of such devices spanning a variety of leaflet sizes may be provided in a kit that results in an ability to quickly obtain a properly sized and marked leaflet for reconstruction.
HEART VALVE DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH ROTATIONAL ALIGNMENT
A delivery system for a transcatheter heart valve (THV) to a subject is provided, the delivery system includes a delivery catheter housing the THV therein; an elongated member for receiving the THV thereon and having an accessory extending from the distal portion thereof, the accessory comprising a plurality of components for alignment with commissures of the THV during delivery of the THV, and a rotational member connected to the elongated member to rotate the accessory and THV together to align with a native or bioprosthetic valve commissure or valve leaflet at a desired angle.
Sizing device and method of positioning a prosthetic heart valve
A sizing device for a collapsible prosthetic heart valve includes a collapsible and expandable stent. A microelectromechanical sensor is coupled to the stent, the sensor being capable of collecting information related to the size and stiffness of tissue.
LEAFLET SIZER
The present invention provides a leaflet sizer comprising first and second commissure indication parts to be contacted with two commissures of a cardiac valve, the first and second commissure indication parts being movable relative to each other.
ARTIFICIAL TENDON-FORMING AUXILIARY INSTRUMENT, SOMATOMETRY INSTRUMENT, AND AUXILIARY INSTRUMENT SET
According to the present invention, there is provided an artificial tendon-forming auxiliary instrument in which a valve cusp of a cardiac valve and a papillary muscle can be joined together with an artificial tendon through an easy procedure and the artificial tendon can be finished so as to have a desired length. According to an aspect of the present invention, an auxiliary instrument (100) is used for joining a valve cusp (210) of the cardiac valve and a papillary muscle (212) with an artificial tendon (200). A pair of end-portion support portions (20) and (21) respectively supporting the valve cusp (210) and the papillary muscle (212) is provided at both ends in a longitudinal direction. The auxiliary instrument (100) includes first and second tendon insertion ports through which the artificial tendon (200) is inserted, a tendon guide portion (30), and an instrument holding portion (40). The first and second tendon insertion ports are respectively formed in the pair of end-portion support portions (20) and (21) and have diameters greater than a diameter of the artificial tendon (200). The tendon guide portion (30) is formed so as to extend in the longitudinal direction across the first and second tendon insertion ports. The instrument holding portion (40) is formed in an intermediate portion of the tendon guide portion (30) in the longitudinal direction.
Instrument of patterning cusp for cardiac valve reconstruction and component thereof
In a case of repairing an aortic valve by forming a valve cusp with a biomembrane, the shape and the size of a valve cusp can be determined easily. An instrument including a valve cusp sizer for measuring the size of the valve cusp and a template for scribing lines for the shape of a valve cusp conforming to the measured size of the valve cusp, in which the valve cusp sizer has a plurality of differently-sized sizer blocks attached to each of the top ends of grip members respectively and each sizer block has an arcuate surface formed by cutting each of differently-sized circular cylinders at an angle conforming to the central angle for the commissure portions and, the template is formed with a scribing portion including a substantially semi-circular valve cusp base forming portion.
Methods of dynamic annuloplasty ring sizing
A dynamic, adjustable annuloplasty ring sizer can include an adjustable ring replica, which can be adjusted through a range of sizes corresponding to available prosthetic annuloplasty repair ring sizes. Actuation of an adjustment trigger on a handle portion of the ring sizer can displace tension wires that extend through a malleable shaft and through a plurality of articulating segments that form the ring replica. Displacement of the tension wires causes flexion of the joints between adjacent articulating segments, thereby reducing the overall size of the ring replica. Releasing the tension wires can allow an elastic extension wire to act on the ring replica, enlarging the ring replica to its maximum, at-rest size. In this manner, the appropriate size of annuloplasty ring prosthesis can be determined with a single device, without requiring a plurality of static ring sizers that require individual insertion and placement for the conventional trial-and-error sizing methods.
