An electronic device according to various embodiments comprises: a first housing and a second housing; a hinge for rotatably connecting the first housing and the second housing; a display exposed through a first part of the first housing and a second part of the second housing; a location sensor; at least one sensor other than the location sensor; a memory; and a processor operatively coupled to the display, the location sensor, the at least one sensor, and the memory, wherein the processor can be set to identify the location of the electronic device through the location sensor, identify a folding state of the electronic device through the at least one sensor, and perform a prestored function corresponding to the location and the folding state of the electronic device.
SELF-RETRACTING DISPLAY DEVICE AND TECHNIQUES FOR PROTECTING SCREEN USING DROP DETECTION
In some aspects, mobile devices with foldable and rollable displays can use a sensor to detect vertical acceleration with respect to the ground to determine if the mobile device has been dropped. If the sensor detects that the mobile device has been dropped the foldable device can fold or retract at least partially to afford protection from the fragile display from striking the ground. Even folding the display to an angle less the 180 degrees can afford some protection because the mobile device can strike edges of the mobile device instead of the display itself. In various embodiments, a rollable device can retract the display if predetermined acceleration limits are exceeded.
Electronic device and method for changing location of preview image according to direction of camera
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first housing including a first face and a second face, a second housing including a third face and a fourth face, a folding part rotatably connecting the first housing and the second housing, a flexible display disposed on the first face and the third face, a camera exposed through at least a portion of the fourth face, a memory configured to store instructions, and a processor configured to determine an orientation of the electronic device and a direction in which the camera is pointed while a camera application is executed, identify the first area or the second area as an area in which a preview image acquired through the camera is displayed based at least on the determined direction and the determined orientation, and display the preview image, acquired through the camera, in the identified area using the flexible display.
COMPUTER CASE WITH MODULAR I/O PANELS
Disclosed is a computer enclosure that includes a shell disposed around a computer chassis, the shell comprising a plurality of elongate members disposed on an outer surface of the shell, the elongate members comprising thermally conductive material. The computer enclosure includes a front input/output (I/O) panel selectively coupled to a front side of the shell, the front I/O panel comprising at least one opening corresponding to an I/O port of a hardware computing component of the chassis. The computer enclosure includes a rear I/O panel selectively coupled to a rear side of the shell, the rear I/O panel comprising at least one opening corresponding to an I/O port of a hardware computing component of the chassis.
ADAPTIVE POSITION DETECTION FOR INDUCTIVE LINEAR POSITION SENSING
Methods and systems for determining a position of a structure using inductive position sensing are described. In an example, a processor may receive a plurality of data points representing a plurality of voltages. The plurality of voltages may be generated by a plurality of sensor coils based on a magnetic flux field. The magnetic flux field may be generated by a plurality of driver coils, and the plurality of voltages may vary with changes in the magnetic flux field. The processor may calibrate the plurality of data points to generate a plurality of calibrated data points. The processor may filter the plurality of calibrated data points. The processor may estimate a position of the structure based on the filtered calibrated data points, where the position of the structure may indicate a size of a size changing device.
