The unified desktop unifies the functionality provided by the larger computer system and the handheld functionality, e.g., communication applications (e.g., phone, SMS, MMS). A user can seamlessly interact with applications, e.g., open, move, close, receive notifications, on the unified desktop whether the applications are displayed on the screens of the handheld device, or the peripheral display of the larger computer system.

The processor can be configured so as to display a first screen and a second screen on the touch screen display, recognize an external electronic device connected by means of the communication circuit if an input for performing a screen sharing function is detected by means of the touch screen display, and transmit, to the recognized external electronic device, the first screen and/or the second screen and at least one audio signal among audio signals corresponding to the first screen and the second screen. A multi-screen display control device includes a plurality of graphics processing units (GPUs) and a watchdog chip. The GPUs transform image data that a host transfers to the multi-screen display control device through a universal serial bus (USB) interface into a plurality of high-definition multi-media interface (HDMI) sub-images to be displayed by a plurality of screens. The watchdog chip is coupled to the GPUs and, when any of the GPUs crashes, the watchdog chip outputs a reset signal to reset all of the GPUs.

The display manager can determine to change a first content item displayed within the display region or a value of a parameter of the display region. The display manager can modify the display region by replacing the first content item with a second content item corresponding to the event associated with the event record or by adjusting the parameter of the display region.
