According to one embodiment, in an inverse element arithmetic apparatus, a word unit processing unit, as approximate calculation loop for extended binary GCD process, iterates a first loop in a case where a value of |r−s| is a subtraction threshold or more, and is capable of iterating a second loop instead of the first loop in a case where the value of |r−s| is smaller than the subtraction threshold. In the first loop, values of r, s, a, b, m, and n is updated and an update matrix M is generated or updated. In the second loop, the values of m and n are updated without updating the values of r, s, a, b and the update matrix M. The control unit terminates the loop of the inverse element arithmetic process in a case where a loop number of times of the inverse element arithmetic process reaches a number-of-times threshold.

MODULAR OPERATION CIRCUIT ADOPTING ITERATIVE CALCULATIONS

A modular operation circuit includes a controller, a modular multiplier and a modular adder. The controller divides a first number into K segments. The modular multiplier performs modular multiplication operations and the modular adder performs modular addition operations to the K segments in (K−1) iterations for deriving a remainder of a division of the first number by a second number.

Process for digital signing of a document with a predetermined secret key

A method for digital signing of a document using a predetermined secret key. An initial internal state is determined by application to a condensate of the document of a first white box implementation of generation of a main nonce; then a modular sum of the main nonce and of a predetermined constant. The method also determines a first internal state by application to the initial internal state of a first modular arithmetic operation, then of a modular product with exponentiation of the predetermined constant. The method then determines a second internal state by application to said condensate of a second white box implementation of generation of the main nonce; and a second modular arithmetic operation function of the first internal state, of the main signature nonce and of the secret key. It then generates a digital signature of the document from the first internal state and the second internal state.

Multi-level low-latency hashing scheme

A system for storing and looking up values via hash table is disclosed. The system comprises multiple hash tables, each hash table being associated with a different hashing function and a content addressable memory (CAM). One or more processors receive a request to store a value; generate hashes of the value via each of the hashing functions; determine whether there exists at least one hash table that has a vacancy for the value; and if the determination is positive, insert the value in one of the at least one hash tables having the vacancy, and if the determination is negative, insert the value in the CAM. The processors also receive a request to look up a value; determine whether any of the hash tables or the CAM contain the value; and return the determination of whether the any of the plurality of hash tables or the CAM contain the value.

Method for determining a modular inverse and associated cryptographic processing device

In a method for determining the modular inverse of a number, successive iterations are applied to two pairs each including a first variable and a second variable, such that at the end of each iteration and for each pair, the product of the second variable and of the number is equal to the first variable modulo a given module. Each iteration includes at least one division by two of the first variable of a first pair or of a second pair, or a combination of the first variable of the first pair and of the first variable of the second pair by addition or subtraction. At least some of the iterations including a combination by addition or subtraction include a step of storing the result of the combination in the first variable of a pair determined randomly from among the first pair and the second pair. An associated cryptographic processing device is also described.

Performing processing using hardware counters in a computer system

Performing processing using hardware counters in a computer system includes storing, in association with greatest common divisor (GCD) processing of the system, a first variable in a first redundant binary representation and a second variable in a second redundant binary representation. Each such redundant binary representation includes a respective sum term and a respective carry term, and a numerical value being represented by a redundant binary representation is equal to a sum of the sum and carry terms of the redundant binary representation. The process performs redundant arithmetic operations of the GCD processing on the first variable and second variables using hardware counter(s), of the computer system, that take input values in redundant binary representation form and provide output values in redundant binary representation form. The process uses output of the redundant arithmetic operations of the GCD processing to obtain an output GCD of integer inputs to the GCD processing.
