Method and System for Controlling Personal Protective Equipment
20230106865 · 2023-04-06 ·

A method for controlling personal protective equipment. The method includes positioning of a person equipped with personal protective equipment next to an electrical enclosure, wherein a specific personal protective equipment requirement is defined for the electrical enclosure. The method further includes scanning the personal protective equipment in a contact-less manner while the person is next to the electrical enclosure. Thereby scanned personal protective equipment information are generated. The method further includes comparing the scanned personal protective equipment information with the specific personal protective equipment requirement and evaluating, based on the comparison, whether the personal protective equipment is in accordance with the specific personal protective equipment requirement. The method further includes providing a feedback indicating whether or not the personal protective equipment is in accordance with the specific personal protective equipment requirement.

FIBER PRODUCT AND METAL FIBER

A metal fiber included in a fiber product includes a tungsten wire having a diameter less than or equal to 22 μm. The tungsten wire may have, for example, a diameter less than or equal to 18 μm. The tungsten wire may have, for example, a diameter within a range from 20% less than 13 μm to 20% greater than 13 μm. In addition, the tungsten wire may have, for example, a diameter greater than or equal to 5 μm. Further, the tungsten wire may include, for example, pure tungsten. Moreover, the metal fiber may be, for example, a metal thread including a false-twisted yarn which is made of a chemical fiber and is wound.

Intimate blends of carbon-containing and dyeable fibers

An intimate blend of staple fibers, and a yarn, fabric, and article of clothing providing surprising arc performance and coloration capability, comprising a mixture of a first staple fiber made from a flame resistant polymer that retains at least 90 percent of its weight when heated to 425 degrees Celsius at a rate of 10 degrees per minute and comprises 0.5 to 20 weight percent discrete homogeneously dispersed carbon particles; and either (a) a second staple fiber from a flame resistant polymer being free of discrete carbon particles and having an L* lightness coordinate of 70 or greater and being capable of accepting a dye or coloration, or (b) a second staple fiber blend being free of discrete carbon particles and comprising at least one second staple fiber from a flame resistant polymer and having an L* lightness coordinate of 70 or greater and being capable of accepting a dye or coloration; the mixture having a total content of 0.5 to 3 weight percent discrete carbon particles.

ARC RESISTANT ACRYLIC FIBER, FABRIC FOR ARC-PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, AND ARC PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

An arc resistant acrylic fiber includes an acrylic polymer. The arc resistant acrylic fiber also includes an infrared absorber in an amount of 1 wt % to 30 wt % with respect to a total weight of the acrylic polymer.

A harness (10) is provided for retaining a pair of electrical rubber insulating workman sleeves (12) on the shoulders (14) of a worker (16). The harness (10) is configured to grip a portion of the worker and thereby provide better anchoring of the electrical rubber insulating sleeves (12) to the worker. The gripping feature of the harness (10) is provided either in the form of a gripping collar (24) or a pair of fabric gripping sleeves (26), or a combination of the collar (24) and sleeves (26). Further, a C-shaped connector is configured for attaching the electrical rubber insulating sleeves (12) to a single point on a harness, which allows for an increased range of motion of the sleeves (12).
