Information processing apparatus and method

An information processing apparatus that detects processing to be executed by a processor includes: a display that displays a status of the processing to be executed by the processor; and a switching controller that switches between a first adjustment mode and a second adjustment mode in association with predetermined processing to be executed without displaying the execution status on the display. The first adjustment mode sets, as a target for selection, a first selection range including a plurality of processing power classes classified according to the magnitude of the processing power. The second adjustment mode sets, as a target for selection, a second selection range in which a first processing power class related to relatively high processing power is excluded from among the first processing power class, a second processing power class, and a third processing power class of the first selection range.

One example energy efficiency evaluation method comprises obtaining, by a service producer, service energy consumption data of the target object, where the service energy consumption data includes service information and energy consumption information of the target object. The service producer can then determine energy efficiency information of the target object based on the service energy consumption data.

A method includes receiving, by a processing device, signaling indicative of a power cycle (PC) to a memory device (MD) having a first signal indicative of a Power On Operation and a second signal indicative of a Power Off Operation, and determining an Average Power On Time (APOT) of the MD based, at least in part, on a quantity of power cycles (n) to the MD over a predetermined time interval (PTI), and for each PC over the PTI, an amount of time between receipt of the first signal and the second signal. A sum of each of the amount of time between receipt of the first signal and the second signal in the PTI provides a total power on time (T) to the MD, and the APOT is equal to T/n. When the APOT is less than (<) a threshold APOT value, determining a frequency at which to perform media scan operations and performing media scan operations involving the MD at the determined frequency.

Methods for handling input/output expansion power faults in a telematics device
11494281 · 2022-11-08 · ·

A method for handling input/output (I/O) expansion power faults in a telematics device is provided. The method includes setting an I/O expander power-off duration to an initial value and powering on an I/O expander interface. In response to detecting a power fault at the I/O expander interface, the I/O expander interface is powered-off dur the power-off duration and the power-off duration is increased. If the power-off duration is greater than the power-off duration limit, the I/O expander interface is permanently powered-off. The steps are repeated until either the power fault does not recur, or the I/O expander interface is permanently powered-off.

MULTI-LEVEL POWER MANAGEMENT OPERATION FRAMEWORK

A processor in a device is configured to access a power policy for the device, where the power policy indicates a relationship between power consumption by the device and another performance variable of the device. The processor is also configured to produce an operating point for the device based at least in part on the power policy. The processor is also configured to provide information regarding the operating point to a management entity that manages the device.

Boundary protection in memory

Apparatuses and methods related to power domain boundary protection in memory. A number of embodiments can include using a voltage detector to monitor a floating power supply voltage used to power a number of logic components while a memory device operates in a reduced power mode, and responsive to the voltage detector detecting that the floating power supply voltage reaches a threshold value while the memory device is in the reduced power mode, providing a control signal to protection logic to prevent a floating output signal driven from one or more of the logic components from being provided across a power domain boundary to one or more of a different number of logic components.

Ensuring IoT device functionality in the presence of multiple temperature dependencies

A system, method and computer program product for operating a low-voltage Internet-of-Things sensor device. The method includes sensing of the temperature dependence at each voltage condition in addition to the actual temperature and voltage. A programmed machine learning model uses the information to decide when it is appropriate to test the device functionality and use the results of different tests to determine when the system should run synchronously or asynchronously through a machine learning predictive algorithm. Based on said one or more sensed operating conditions, the system uses the model to detect a mode of operation of said IoT device indicating IoT device meets an expected level of performance, or a mode indicating said IoT device is not operating according to the expected level of performance. Based on the detected operating condition, the IoT device automatically adapts its operation to ensure a desired level of IoT sensor device performance.

PROCESSING SYSTEM CONCURRENCY OPTIMIZATION SYSTEM

A processing system concurrency optimization system includes a processing system having first and second processing subsystems, a power system that is coupled to the first and second processing subsystems, a processing system concurrency optimization database, and a processing system concurrency optimization subsystem that is coupled to the power system and the processing system concurrency optimization database. The processing system concurrency optimization subsystem determines that a first workload has been provided for performance by the processing system, and identifies a first processing system concurrency optimization profile that is associated with the first workload in the processing system concurrency optimization database. Based on the first processing system concurrency optimization profile, the processing system concurrency optimization subsystem configures the power system to provide first power in a first power range to the first processing subsystem and second power in a second power range to the second processing subsystem.

Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) within Processor Clusters

An electronic system has a plurality of processing clusters including a first processing cluster. The first processing cluster further includes a plurality of processors and a power management processor. The power management processor obtains performance information about the plurality of processors, executes power instructions to transition a first processor of the plurality of processors from a first performance state to a second performance state different from the first performance state, and executes one or more debug instructions to perform debugging of a respective processor of the plurality of processors. The power instructions are executed in accordance with the obtained performance information and independently of respective performance states of other processors in the plurality of processors of the first processing cluster. In some implementations, the power management processor receives, from a system controller external to the plurality of processing clusters, a first power allocation for the first processing cluster.
