Osteosynthesis device
In one embodiment, the present invention includes an intramedullary osteosynthesis or arthrodesis implant including a central body, a first pair of legs extending from the central body to a pair of leg tips, and a second pair of legs extending from the central body, in a direction opposite the first pair of legs, to a pair of leg tips such that the central body, first pair of legs and second pair of legs are positioned alongside a longitudinal axis.
Device for facilitating the formation of new bone tissue
A device for facilitating the formation of new bone tissue includes a body that defines an upper portion and a lower portion, the lower portion having a substantially frustum-like shape, the upper portion having a substantially cylindrical shape. The lower portion is adapted to be inserted into the medullary canal of a bone.
Implant having a shaft coated with a web structure
In various embodiments, an implant for interfacing with a bone structure includes a web structure including a space truss. The space truss includes two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes and the web structure is configured to interface with human bone tissue. In some embodiments, a method is provided that includes accessing an intersomatic space and inserting an implant into the intersomatic space. The implant includes a web structure including a space truss. The space truss includes two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes and the web structure is configured to interface with human bone tissue.
SYNDESMOSIS TREATMENT CONSTRUCT
An apparatus and method are provided for a syndesmosis treatment construct configured to be placed into a cinched configuration that presses a first bone against a second bone. The syndesmosis treatment construct comprises a proximal fixator to contact the first bone and a distal fixator to contact the second bone. A first suture and a second suture are parallelly looped through the proximal fixator and oppositely looped through the distal fixator. Distal ends of the first and second sutures are fixated within a washer disposed between the proximal fixator and the first bone. Proximal ends of the first and second sutures are passed through openings in the washer and through the proximal fixator. Pulling of the proximal ends by a practitioner places the syndesmosis treatment construct into a cinched configuration. Any of various suitable suture knots may be formed so as to fixate the cinched configuration.
IMPLANT FOR REMOVABLE PROSTHETIC NAIL
An assembly for mounting a prosthetic nail for a human or animal digit. The assembly includes at least one transdermal anchor with an interior portion and an exterior portion. The interior portion may be positioned within tissue of the digit, and the exterior portion may extend outside the tissue of the digit. In another aspect, an exterior base may be positioned on a nail bed of the digit, and the exterior base may be coupled to the exterior portion of the transdermal anchor. The base may include a mount for removably a prosthetic nail to the base.
Orthopedic implant and methods of implanting and removing same
Illustrative embodiments of orthopedic implants and methods for surgically repairing hammertoe are disclosed. According to at least one illustrative embodiment, an orthopedic implant includes a proximal segment comprising a number of spring arms forming an anchored barb at a first end of the implant, a distal segment extending between the proximal segment and a second end of the implant, and a central segment disposed between the proximal and distal segment.
Reverse Ankle Replacement System
The presented invention is a system for performing reverse ankle replacement in the setting of ankle joint osteoarthritis, and other degenerative conditions of the ankle joint including avascular necrosis. The presented tibial and talar components can be implanted in a cement-less or cemented fashion. The prosthesis of the presented invention consists of (1) a tibial component which includes a planar undersurface with porous texture applied to its upper, non-bearing surfaces, (2) a talar component which includes a bearing surface which is concave, (3) a polyethylene component which includes a bearing undersurface which is convex, and (4) multiple talar component embodiments with or without flanges and/or screw holes for accommodation of bone screws for additional fixation and for permitting sub-talar joint fusion.
ARTIFICIAL JOINT STEM
In the present disclosure, an artificial joint stem includes a base extending in a vertical direction when a proximal side of a human body in use is defined as an upward direction, and a coating film containing a calcium phosphate-based material and an antimicrobial material disposed on a part of the base. The base includes one or more boundary lines on the base defined by a presence or absence of the coating film. The one or more boundary lines include a first boundary line located on a lower side of the base with respect to the coating film. The first boundary line is located so as to intersect the vertical direction. A component along the vertical direction of the first boundary line is smaller than a component along a width direction of the base.
TOTAL ANKLE REPLACEMENT TRIAL AND PREPARATION SYSTEMS, GUIDES, INSTRUMENTS AND RELATED METHODS
Instruments, guides, systems and related methods for total ankle prostheses are disclosed. The instruments, guides, systems and related methods facilitate preparation of a tibia and/or talus of a patient for implantation of a total ankle prosthesis therein. The instruments, guides, systems and related methods also facilitate selection of a particular size of a tibial component, a talus component and/or a tibial insert of the total ankle prosthesis that suits the patient. The instruments, guides, systems and related methods include a tibial trial component, a talar trial component and tibial insert trial component that replicate one or more aspects of the tibial component, the talus component and the tibial insert, respectively, of the total ankle prosthesis. The talar trial component includes an articulation surface that articulates with the tibial insert trial component, and slots that facilitate chamfered resection of the patient's talus for the implantation of the talus component thereon.
Interphalangeal arthrodesis implant
This interphalangeal arthrodesis implant comprises a proximal anchor portion intended to be engaged and anchored in the medullary canal of a first phalanx sectioned along a first osteotomy plane, the proximal anchor portion including a plurality of proximal anchor branches each provided with at least one bone anchor element; and a distal anchor portion, connected to the proximal anchor portion, intended to be engaged and anchored in the medullary canal of a second phalanx sectioned along a second osteotomy plane, the distal anchor portion including a plurality of distal anchor branches each provided with at least one bone anchor element. The distal anchor portion comprises a stop portion including a stop surface intended to bear against a sectioned surface of the first phalanx extending along the first osteotomy plane.
