Chronologically navigating among time-based entries
Chronologically navigating among time-based entries stored by a physical computing device having a processor configured to execute a time-based application includes displaying, with the computing device, a time-based entry with at least one of a forward control and a backward control; in response to a user selecting the forward control, displaying with the computing device a subsequent time-based entry, the subsequent time-based entry including a shared property with the displayed time-based entry; and in response to the user selecting the backward control, displaying with the computing device a previous time-based entry, the previous time-based entry including a shared property with the displayed time-based entry.
Method for displaying and navigating calendar events in a computer system having a graphical user interface
A computer system having a graphical user interface that includes a display and a user interface selection device. The computer system includes a method of displaying and navigating calendar events. The method includes selecting an initial calendar time period for display; selecting initial time units; displaying a band looped around an axis from a point of view located on the axis wherein the band depicts the time units and the calendar events on the side facing the axis in chronological order; and using the user interface selection device to receive navigation commands moving the view point along the axis and/or rotating the band around the axis.
Dynamic and individualized scheduling engine for app-based learning
Systems and methods can dynamically set user-specific schedules for prompting users to access educational content objects. An educational performance metric is identified for a user. A learning schedule is accessed that includes an identification of a plurality of learning episodes. Each of the plurality of learning episodes is associated with a time-related variable indicative of when the learning episode is to occur and a substance-related variable indicative of a learning substance for the learning episode. The learning schedule is adjusted based on the identified educational performance metric and associated with the user. A presentation time is identified based on a time-related variable in the learning schedule. An electronic content object associated with the presentation time is identified based on a substance-related variable the learning schedule. A notification with an offer to access the identified electronic content object is presented at the presentation time via a device of the user.
STRING TRANSFORMATION SUB-PROGRAM SUGGESTION
Examples are disclosed herein that relate to string transformation sub-program suggestion. One example provides, at a computing device, a method comprising receiving a dataset having a plurality of input strings; receiving a declarative user input associated with a desired string transformation sub-program to be performed using the dataset as input; in a search space having a plurality of string transformation sub-programs, reducing the search space based on (i) the user input and (ii) one or more of the plurality of input strings of the dataset, to thereby form a reduced search space, the reduced search space having at least one string transformation sub-program that is configured to transform one or more of the plurality of input strings of the dataset; and selecting, from the reduced search space, one or more suggested string transformation sub-programs.
