DYNAMICALLY CHANGING INPUT DATA STREAMS PROCESSED BY DATA STREAM LANGUAGE PROGRAMS
20180011695 · 2018-01-11 ·

An instrumentation analysis system processes data streams by executing instructions specified using a data stream language program. The data stream language allows users to specify a search condition using a find block for identifying the set of data streams processed by the data stream language program. The set of identified data streams may change dynamically. The data stream language allows users to group data streams into sets of data streams based on distinct values of one or more metadata attributes associated with the input data streams. The data stream language allows users to specify a threshold block for determining whether data values of input data streams are outside boundaries specified using low/high thresholds. The elements of the set of data streams input to the threshold block can dynamically change. The low/high threshold values can be specified as data streams and can dynamically change.

Disclosed examples include accessing sensor data; recognizing, by executing an instruction with programmable circuitry, a feature in the sensor data based on a convolutional neural network; and transitioning, by executing an instruction with the programmable circuitry, a mobile device between at least two of motion feature detection, audio feature detection, or camera feature detection after the feature is recognized in the sensor data, the mobile device to operate at a different level of power consumption after the transition than before the transition.

Data Storage System and Method

A system and method are presented that utilize separate append-only arrays to track metadata and real data for a file. All modifications to the file result in metadata records being appended to the end of the metadata array. Write modification commands cause real data to be appended to the file data array. The location of real data on the file data array is identified by a record in the metadata array. Modification commands can be grouped into sets, which complete as a set. Modification sets can rely upon the completeness of prior sets. Read-like commands cause the creation of a virtual array based upon the records of the metadata array. The created virtual array has the same size as the actual file but does not contain the real data for the file. Rather, the virtual file array maps to the actual data stored in the file data array.

Method and apparatus for storing email messages

A method for saving an email to an electronic storage location is disclosed. A topic identifier located in the email is used to locate a storage location on the electronic storage device for saving the email message. Emails relating to the same topics of interest may be stored in the same storage location.

Self-contained files for generating a visualization of query results

Systems and methods are disclosed for generating one or more files to visualize query results. The systems and methods can include parsing one or more files that include one or more queries and computer-executable instructions for displaying results of the one or more queries. The one or more queries can identify a set of data to be processed and a manner of processing the set of data. The systems and methods can further include generating one or more files that include the results of the queries and computer-executable instructions for displaying one or more visualizations of the results.

Representing result data streams based on execution of data stream language programs

An instrumentation analysis system processes data streams by executing instructions specified using a data stream language program. The set of identified data streams may change dynamically. DETERMINING A SHARING RELATIONSHIP OF A FILE IN NAMESPACE SNAPSHOTS

The technology described herein efficiently determines whether a real inode is shared among views, or owned. In-memory data structures include a view snapshot generation counter that is increased as a snapshot that generates a view is created, and an inode total weight. An in-memory virtual inode cache dataset for a filesystem object associated with the view is instantiated with the value of snapshot generation counter, sharing-related data based on the inode mapping file entry for the object, and an inode access weight. To determine whether the inode is shared (and needs to be split), such as on a write to the object, the in-memory data is evaluated. The real inode is shared if the generation counters are unequal, if the sharing-related data indicates sharing at an intermediate indirect block level, or indicates sharing at the inode level and the inode access weight is less than the inode total weight.

Parallel prediction of multiple image aspects

Example embodiments that analyze images to characterize aspects of the images rely on a same neural network to characterize multiple aspects in parallel. Because additional neural networks are not required for additional aspects, such an approach scales with increased aspects.

Techniques and solutions are described for storing and processing metadata, including to instantiate database artefacts at a target system based on metadata for database artefacts maintained at a source system. The target system can query the source system for metadata associated with database artefacts of the source system. The target system can instantiate database artefacts based on such metadata. The database artefacts of the target system are linked to corresponding database artefacts of the source system, such as by associating a database artefact of the target system with an API useable to obtain data or metadata from the source system for a corresponding database artefact of the source system. The target system obtains additional data or metadata for a database artefact of the target system using a corresponding API.
