VIRTUAL REPLICATION OF UNSTRUCTURED DATA
20230229564 · 2023-07-20 ·

A data management system includes: a transceiver; a memory; and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver and the memory and configured to: receive, via the transceiver, a copy data request for unstructured data; access, via the transceiver in response to the copy data request, a plurality of backed-up files of unstructured data stored in a first data storage device; send, in response to the copy data request, a plurality of Virtual Data Files (VDFs) to a second data storage device, the processor being configured to respond to receipt of information from each of the plurality of VDFs to retrieve a respective backed-up file of unstructured data of the plurality of backed-up files of unstructured data stored in the first data storage device.

Out of band layer scrubbing

A computer processing system includes a processor to operate in a first computing environment. The processor creates a generic application layer by scrubbing a new application layer within the computer processing system to remove objects associated with the new application layer and specific to the first computing environment. The processor further creates within the computer processing system a single composited layered image by merging the generic application layer with at least one other application layer having objects associated therewith.

Method for dynamic pseudofs creation and management in a network filesystem

One example method includes connecting to a fileserver of a data protection system, initiating, at a client, an operation that is associated with a master pseudofs of the fileserver, creating, at the client, a client-specific pseudofs based upon the master pseudofs, and the client-specific pseudofs includes only those nodes of the master pseudofs that the client is authorized to access, and performing the operation using the client-specific pseudofs.

AVOIDING DATA INCONSISTENCY IN A FILE SYSTEM USING 2-LEVEL SYNCHRONIZATION

A method of synchronously executing input/output operations (IOs) for a plurality of applications using a storage device with a file system includes the steps of: receiving a first write IO including an instruction to write first data at a first address of the file system; determining that, within a first range of the file system comprising the first address, there are no pending unmap IOs for deallocating storage space of the storage device from files of the plurality of applications; after determining that there are no pending unmap IOs within the first range, locking the first range to prevent incoming unmap IOs from deallocating storage space within the first range from the files of the plurality of applications; after locking the first range, writing the first data to the storage device at the first address; and after writing the first data, unlocking the first range.

Disclosed embodiments relate to adjusting vehicle Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software versions. Operations may include receiving a prompt to adjust an ECU of a vehicle from executing a first version of ECU software to a second version of ECU software; configuring, in response to the prompt and based on a delta file corresponding to the second version of ECU software, the second version of ECU software on the ECU in the vehicle for execution; and configuring, in response to the prompt, the first version of ECU software on the ECU in the vehicle to become non-executable.

A virtual file organization system, method and program product are disclosed. Included is a system that assigns classification tags to files stored within a storage system based on a natural language processing (NLP) context analysis of each file; and a virtual smart folder that is viewable within a user interface, wherein: opening the virtual smart folder causes a set of virtual subfolders to be displayed in which each virtual subfolder includes a category title; opening of a virtual subfolder causes a set of files residing at disparate locations in the storage system to be displayed; and the files displayed by opening the virtual subfolder each include an assigned classification tag that is associated with the category title of the virtual subfolder.
