ADJUSTABLE SEAL SYSTEM, SEAL COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME
An adjustable seal system, seal component for use in the system, and method are provided for forming a sealing interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket. The seal component is selectively placed over the outer surface of a suspension liner including a plurality of seal bands, which the seal component may removably and securely engage.
Orthopedic device
An orthopedic device for the orthotic or prosthetic provision of a patient. The orthopedic device includes a knee joint which has a proximal upper part and a distal lower part arranged pivotably thereon, an ankle joint, a pivoted foot part which can be fastened distally to the ankle joint, and a shin part arranged between the ankle joint and the knee joint. The upper part of the knee joint or a thigh part fastened thereto that can be attached to the patient's body and is coupled with the foot part by a force transfer device, which causes a plantar flexion of the foot part when a knee is flexed.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE
The invention relates to an orthopaedic device for the orthotic or prosthetic provision of a patient witha knee joint (10), which has a proximal upper part (11) and a distal lower part (13) arranged pivotably thereon, an ankle joint (20), a pivoted foot part (23) which can be fastened distally to the ankle joint (20), anda shin part (14) arranged between the ankle joint (20) and the knee joint (10), wherein the upper part (11) of the knee joint (10) or a thigh part fastened thereto that can be attached to the patient's body is coupled with the foot part (23) by means of a force transfer device (3; 30, 31, 32, 35; 40, 41, 42), which causes a plantar flexion of the foot part (23) when a knee is flexed.
Prosthesis for a lower limb
A prosthesis for a residual limb includes an element for receiving a stump fitted on or established by a support part, a distal prosthetic part, and an absorbing system. The distal prosthetic part is assembled on the support part by a pivot link forming a joint to enable flexion or extension of the distal prosthetic part with respect to the element for receiving. The absorbing system absorbs the flexion or extension efforts and is connected to the distal prosthetic part and to one of a rod or a lever that is pivotally fitted on the distal prosthetic device. The rod is mounted to the lever and to the support part.
SYSTEM FOR CONTROL OF A PROSTHETIC DEVICE
A control system for control of a prosthetic device having a plurality of actuators receives an orientation signal indicative of a desired movement. The control system evaluates whether the prosthetic device may move as desired with a current angle of rotation and commands at least one actuator to move the prosthetic device as desired by maintaining the current angle of rotation or by adjusting the angle of rotation if the prosthetic device cannot move as desired with the current angle. The control system may alternate between commanding a first subset of actuators and a second subset of actuators each time the orientation signal is indicative of a neutral position. The control system may include a position sensor and a compliance sensor and may command at least one actuator based on a combination of positional control using the position sensor and force control using the compliance sensor.
Polycentric powered ankle prosthesis
Systems and methods are disclosed for a powered ankle prosthesis. The prosthesis may comprise a polycentric mechanism having a defined path for an instantaneous center of rotation. The path of the instantaneous center of rotation may be defined by a trajectory substantially equal to an arc positioned over a joint of the polycentric mechanism.
ORTHOPEDIC KNEE JOINT AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN ORTHOPEDIC KNEE JOINT
An orthopedic knee joint having an upper part with upper connecting features, a lower part which is mounted pivotably on the upper part and has connecting features for prosthetic components, and a stop for limiting an extension movement. The stop is coupled to an adjusting device, which is coupled to a control device that actuates the adjusting device as a function of sensor data and changes the position of the stop. If the knee joint is provided with an adjustable extension stop position, the extension stop can be shifted forward for walking which results in a greater inclination at heel strike in order to flex the knee joint and, therefore, increased damping upon initiation of the stance phase. For standing, the adjusting device can be activated so that the extension stop is reversed, such that a statically more secure orthosis or prosthesis set-up can be obtained.
BIDIRECTIONAL BIOMECHANICAL PROSTHETIC FULL FINGER CONFIGURED FOR ABDUCTION AND ADDUCTION WITH MCP PIVOT
The disclosure provides apparatus and methods of use pertaining to a bidirectional biomechanical prosthetic finger assembly. In one embodiment, the assembly includes an eccentric metacarpophalangeal (MCP) pivot configured for swivelable attachment to a hand of a user, a distal coupler, and an articulation assembly rotatively coupled therebetween. A ring configured to receive a user's residual finger is disposed upon the articulation assembly, and may be adjusted to a target location based on a length of the residual finger. The articulation assembly is configured to utilize vertical movements of the residual finger within the ring to articulate the distal coupler within a plane parallel to an x-z plane, and the MCP pivot is configured to utilize lateral movements of the residual finger within the ring to articulate the distal coupler within a plane parallel to an x-y plane. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
PROSTHESIS FOR FEMORAL AMPUTEE
Hinged connecting device (2) for a prosthesis (1) for a femoral amputee, connecting the femoral part (101) and the tibial part (102) of same in a hinged manner, and moreover comprising a damping mechanism (20) intended to counter a predetermined resistance at least during bending of the prosthesis (1), by replacing the muscle groups usually used for this purpose. The damping mechanism (200) is capable of being switched between a first operating mode (M1), selected by default, in which the value of the resistance corresponds to a first maximum value (Vmax), and a second operating mode (M2), that can be actuated only in a hyperextension position (P0) of the prosthesis (1), in which the resistance value corresponds to a second minimum value (Vmin); and the hinged connecting device (2) moreover comprises a fully mechanical locking system (3), arranged in order to allow the second operating mode (M2) to be activated only when the inclination of the tibial part (102) exceeds a first predetermined oriented angle (X1) relative to the vertical.
