The developer selects a first function to supplement functionality of a first application with external functionality available from third party applications. A code generation module provides a software object to the developer for incorporation into a first state of the first application. The first state includes a user interface element associated with an entity. User selection of the user interface element initiates preparation of a query wrapper including a combination of the entity's name and a predefined text string corresponding to the first function. The query wrapper is transmitted to a search system and a result set is received and displayed. A first item of the result set includes an access mechanism for a specified state of a target application. User selection of the first item causes the access mechanism to open the target application to the specified state.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium stores a response processing program for causing a computer to execute processing including: receiving a question from a user input to a terminal; extracting, in a case where a plurality of pieces of answer candidate data that corresponds to the received question is retrieved, keywords or key phrases from the plurality of pieces of answer candidate data; classifying the extracted keywords or key phrases on the basis of words included in the keywords or key phrases; and outputting a classification result of the keywords or key phrases to the terminal in a state selectable by a user, together with a response text to the question.

A computer-implemented method is disclosed. The method includes receiving from a remote device a search query, generating a plurality of different category-directed result sets for the search query, determining an order for the plurality of category-directed result sets based on the search query, and transmitting the plurality of category-directed result sets to the remote device, in a manner that the result sets are to be displayed in the remote device in the determined order.

A computer-implemented method is disclosed. The method includes receiving from a remote device a search query, generating a plurality of different category-directed result sets for the search query, determining an order for the plurality of category-directed result sets based on the search query, and transmitting the plurality of category-directed result sets to the remote device, in a manner that the result sets are to be displayed in the remote device in the determined order.

A system and method may analyze computer actions on a computer desktop system. Using a data gathering process, a low-level user action information item, describing input by a user (e.g. to the computer desktop system), may be received or gathered. The low-level user action information item may include an input type description and screen window information. Based on a series of low-level user action information items, a process a computer is engaging in with the user may be estimated or determined. The best or most appropriate next low-level user action may be displayed or suggested to the user, e.g. on a computer desktop system to a user.
