The disarticulated compression socket may include a rigid socket frame having one or more compression apertures each having one or more disarticulated compression inserts. Each disarticulated compression insert may be coupled with, and responsive to, a compression actuator configured to adjust the disarticulated compression insert individually, or in concert. In one preferred embodiment, at least one compression actuator may be coupled with one, or a plurality of disarticulated compression inserts and further configured to retract and/or expand the coupled disarticulated compression inserts securing the residual limb within said socket frame. Control of the compression actuators may be manual or automatic in response to a signal from a sensor. Additional embodiments may also include one or more lateral release channels configured to accommodate soft tissue expansion of the residual limb as it is compressed and/or secured within the socket frame.

An adjustable prosthesis system for a residual limb includes: an adjustable outer shell having a bottom, an adjustable inner volume, and an adjustable inner shape; at least one closure component attached to the outer shell and adapted to adjust the width of the inner volume and/or inner shape; an inner liner adapted to receive the residual limb and to be inserted in the inner volume; and an adjustable connector having a proximal end adjustably connected to a distal end of the outer shell and adapted to provide concurrently for a plurality of directional adjustments and/or angular adjustments of a position of the distal end of the outer shell relative to the proximal end of the connector, a distal end of the connector adapted to connect to a prosthetic device, wherein adjustments of the width(s) and the connector provide for a custom-like fit of the prosthesis on the residual limb.

Adaptable socket system, method, and kit
10369027 · 2019-08-06 · ·

An adjustable socket system, method, and kit for use with prosthetic devices or orthotic, orthopedic, or exoskeletal support devices that includes a paddle and a compressing device coupled to the paddle. The paddle is chosen from a plurality of paddles of different shapes in such a way that the paddle inner surface is substantially coextensive with a soft tissue area overlying skeletal structures. The compressing device presses the paddle against the soft tissue area in order to minimize the motion of the paddle relative to the underlying skeletal structures without causing discomfort to the user or compressing areas not in contact with the paddle, allowing compressed tissue to flow into uncompressed areas. The system, method, and kit can include an external tool, sensors, actuators, and controllers, to assist fitting and for adjustment after fitting. A stabilizer can be added to resist the bending force on the paddle.

Disarticulated Compression Socket

A disarticulated compression socket configured to secure a residual limb. The disarticulated compression socket may include a rigid socket frame having one or more compression apertures each having one or more disarticulated compression inserts. Each disarticulated compression insert may be coupled with and/or responsive to a compression band configured to compress the disarticulated compression inserts and thereby secure a residual limb within the rigid socket frame.

PROSTHESIS SOCKET AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN ADJUSTMENT OF AN INNER CIRCUMFERENCE OF A PROSTHESIS SOCKET

A prosthesis socket having a proximal insertion opening and an inner circumference which at least partially surrounds a limb stump, at least one connection device for a prosthesis component, which is connectable to the prosthesis socket, at least one actuator, by means of which the inner circumference of the prosthesis socket is changeable, and at least one sensor coupled to a control device, wherein the control device is connected to the actuator and activates or deactivates same, depending on the received sensor signals, and to a method for adjusting the inner circumference.

NON-SNAG PROSTHETIC FOOT AND LEG
20190151119 · 2019-05-23 ·

The present disclosure illustrates a prosthetic foot that may reduce snagging on external obstacles. In some embodiments, a prosthetic foot includes a symmetric wear member that is rotatable to allow a user to alter an orientation of the symmetric wear member for even wear. A cuff may couple to the symmetric wear member, and include the proximal end comprising a receptacle with an opening having an adjustable diameter. The receptacle may be sized and shaped to receive and selectively retain the prosthesis pylon by adjusting the diameter of the opening. The prosthetic foot may further include a vertical adjustment mechanism that selectively alters a depth of the receptacle of the cuff to vertically displace the prosthesis pylon.

A SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A PROSTHETIC LIMB
20190151120 · 2019-05-23 ·

A hydraulic system for adjusting a prosthetic limb. The hydraulic system may include an expandable pad mounted onto an interior surface of a socket of the prosthetic limb. The hydraulic system may further include a hydraulic cylinder and a plunger mechanism. The hydraulic cylinder may be filled with a hydraulic oil. The hydraulic system may be configured to expand the expandable pad by pumping the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic cylinder into the expandable pad responsive to a volume decrease of the residual limb being more than a threshold.

PROSTHETIC SPORT FEET

Various features for improving the performance of prosthetic sport feet are provided. A fairing for a prosthetic sport foot can include foam components that are coupled to the foot and an elastane cover. The fairing is configured to alter the cross-sectional profile of the foot to produce a more aerodynamic shape. A prosthetic sport foot can include a hollow foot member that can be lighter weight and provide improved performance. A prosthetic sport foot can include an adjustable tension strap extending between and coupled to two portions of the foot member. A prosthetic sport foot, such as a prosthetic running foot or prosthetic cycling foot, can include an aerodynamic fairing and a cover.
