PROSTHETIC SOCKET SYSTEM, AND PROSTHETIC SOCKET AND LINER

A prosthetic socket system comprising a prosthetic socket and a liner, said prosthetic socket having a distal end region, at least one socket wall extending therefrom in proximal direction, and connection means for securing a prosthetic component. The socket wall, when in the applied state, at least partially enclose a stump that is received in the prosthetic socket The liner includes a proximal entry opening and a lateral wall which extends in the distal direction, at least partially surrounds a stump when in the applied state and is arranged between the stump and the prosthetic socket when in the applied state. A coupling device is arranged between the liner and the prosthetic socket in the distal end region, and, on the outer side of the lateral wall of the liner and on the inner side of the socket wall, resistance regions are arranged or formed which interact with one another and which counteract a movement extracting said liner out of the prosthetic socket, in the proximal direction.

The present invention relates to a prosthesis for an arm or a leg, comprising a flexible sleeve for receiving a residual limb, a constrictor on the flexible sleeve for tightening the sleeve around the residual limb, and a rigid mount secured to the sleeve and spaced axially along the sleeve from the constrictor for mounting a tool. A sensor is provided in the mount to measure a physical parameter associated with the function performed by the tool. The prosthesis further comprises an actuator connected to the constrictor and a control circuit acting on the actuator to vary the force tightening the sleeve around the residual limb in dependence upon the measured parameter.

ADJUSTABLE PROSTHETIC INTERFACES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Prosthesis devices can include sockets having adjustable features. In one example, a socket includes one or more panels that can move outwardly or inwardly relative to a receptacle portion of the socket. The panels can be moved by tightening a tensioning line.

Adjustable socket system

An adjustable socket system includes a distal portion and proximal portion. An axis extends between the distal and proximal portions. A plurality of struts are connected to the distal portion and distributed circumferentially about the axis. The struts at least in part define a receiving volume adapted to receive a residual limb and are movable between an expanded configuration in which at least some of the struts are moved radially outward relative to the axis to loosen the fit of the adjustable system, and a closed configuration in which at least some of the struts are moved radially inward relative to the expanded configuration to tighten the fit of the adjustable socket system. A tightening system is operatively connected to the struts and arranged to differentially tighten and loosen the fit of the adjustable socket system on one or more areas of the residual limb via a single input.

POST-OPERATIVE RESIDUAL LIMB SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

An upper extremity post-operative residual limb support assembly includes an upper frame; a lower frame adjustably coupled to the upper frame; a liner coupled to the upper frame and the lower frame, the liner including: a first liner portion configured to be positioned adjacent the upper frame and extend at least partially about an arm of a user; and a second liner portion configured to be positioned adjacent the lower frame, the second liner portion including a closed end configured to receive a distal end of a residual portion of the arm.

Prosthetic sport feet

Various features for improving the performance of prosthetic sport feet are provided. A fairing for a prosthetic sport foot can include foam components that are coupled to the foot and an elastane cover. The fairing is configured to alter the cross-sectional profile of the foot to produce a more aerodynamic shape. A prosthetic sport foot can include a hollow foot member that can be lighter weight and provide improved performance. A prosthetic sport foot can include an adjustable tension strap extending between and coupled to two portions of the foot member. A prosthetic sport foot, such as a prosthetic running foot or prosthetic cycling foot, can include an aerodynamic fairing and a cover. A prosthetic sport foot can have a varying-width profile such that a mid-section of the foot is narrower and a toe portion flares outward.

ADJUSTABLE SOCKET SYSTEM

An adjustable socket system includes first and second shell components and first and second longitudinal supports connected to a base. The socket system is movable between an open configuration to loosen the fit of the socket system, and a closed configuration to secure the fit of the socket system on residual limb received therein. A tightening system includes a tensioning unit having a handle defining a moment arm rotatable about a rotation axis, and a tensioning element operatively coupled to the handle via a movable connection point located and protected between the first shell component and the first support and to the shell components via a control point. Rotation of the handle displaces the movable connection point and the tensioning element relative to the control point to move the socket system to the closed configuration.

Disarticulated Compression Socket

A disarticulated compression socket configured to secure a residual limb. The disarticulated compression socket may include a rigid socket frame having one or more compression apertures each having one or more disarticulated compression inserts. Each disarticulated compression insert may be coupled with, and responsive to, a compression actuator configured to adjust the disarticulated compression insert individually, or in concert. In one preferred embodiment, at least one compression actuator may be coupled with one, or a plurality of disarticulated compression inserts and further configured to retract and/or expand the coupled disarticulated compression inserts securing the residual limb within said socket frame. Control of the compression actuators may be manual or automatic in response to a signal from a sensor.

Additional embodiments may also include one or more lateral release channels configured to accommodate soft tissue expansion of the residual limb as it is compressed and/or secured within the socket frame.

A prosthetic connector system for use with a prosthetic socket having a distal end includes a plate defining a plurality of holes and attachable to the distal end of the prosthetic socket. A component is removably attachable to the plate via the plurality of holes and arranged to connect a prosthesis to the prosthetic socket. The plate defines an outer periphery having an asymmetrical configuration contoured to substantially correspond to at least a portion of the component when the component is attached to the plate via at least some of the holes.
