Security through layers in an intelligent electronic device
The present disclosure provides for improving security in a meter or an intelligent electronic device (IED) through the use of a security key which is unique to each meter or IED. Such a key may be used to prevent password reuse among multiple meters. Such a key may also be used to encrypt critical components of the software, such that only when running on the correct meter can the components of the software be decrypted. Such a key may also be used to uniquely identify the device in a larger data collection and management system. The security key can also be used to prevent the direct copying of meters. The present disclosure also provides for a meter or IED that stores functional software separately from core software.
Key-ladder protected personalization data conversion from global to unique encryption
A system and method of provisioning personalization data of a second type to a device having personalization data of a first type, the device having a global root key GK_0, and a secure processing environment having unique information is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises accepting a provisioning request from the device, the provisioning request comprising the unique information and an identifier of a second type of provisioning data requested, converting the personalization data from the first type to the second type, and transmitting the converted personalization data to the device.
SOFTWARE OWNERSHIP VALIDATION OF OPTICAL DISCS USING SECONDARY DEVICE
Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for providing software ownership validation of optical discs using secondary devices. In aspects, a user may request access to electronic content using a first device. In response to the request, a local network comprising the first device may be queried to identify a second device having access to the electronic content. For example, the second device may comprise an optical disc comprising the electronic content. Upon identifying the second device, the second device may be queried to determine whether the second device is able to validate the user's ownership of the electronic content. If the second device is able to validate the user's ownership of the electronic content, the first device is provided access to the electronic content.
TECHNIQUES FOR PROVIDING COMPUTER-MEDIATED REALITY CONTENT AS DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCES VIA WEBPAGE NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS
Techniques for encoding tokenizing digital multimedia experiences and, in particular, computer-mediated reality experiences. A method includes encoding a webpage into portions of code. The webpage is associated with a unique digital asset representing a digital multimedia experience (DME). Each portion of code causes projection of computer-mediated reality media content corresponding to the unique asset, thereby altering a perception of a reality. The method further includes creating a database including nodes. The nodes include webpage nodes connected to non-fungible token (NFT) nodes. The portions of code of the webpage are stored among the nodes. The method also includes providing the portion of code to a device authorized by an owner of one of the NFT node based on the connections in the database.
Method of managing the right of access to a digital content
The invention relates to a method of managing access by a transfer device (CL1&CL3) to a content stored on a content server (SCNT), a transfer device being associated with an identifier, the method being characterized in that it comprises a prior stage including a device (MOB1) requesting authorization to access the content, the authorization request being accompanied by at least one identifier of a transfer device (CL1&CL3) that is authorized to access the content, followed by a step of making available access data (TK/SGN (TK)) for accessing the content, the access data including said at least one identifier (CL1&CL3), and a step of accessing the content, including: i. a step of the transfer device (CL1) obtaining access data; ii. the transfer device requesting access to the content, the request including the access data and the identifier of the transfer device originating the request; and iii. the transfer device receiving the content if the identifier of the transfer device (CL1) originating the transmission corresponds to an identifier authorized to access the content.
System and Method for Remote Authentication
A system enables a content creator to upload the content onto the server and set rules and conditions for the access and retrieval. The content is downloaded to a portable storage medium, the content will be encrypted for display at a particular destination device. When the content is loaded on the destination device, the destination device will check if the content is loaded on the correct destination device by checking the information of the destination device attached to the content against the device information stored on the destination device.
Mobile media pause and resume
In embodiments, the present invention provides a method and system for managing playback of content delivered to a mobile device with a pause and resume functionality. The method and system including receiving delivered content on a mobile device, initiating playback of the delivered content, pausing playback of the content being delivered to the mobile device in response to an action and resuming delivery of the content upon a request.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING SERVICE, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A system includes circuitry that determines whether a license for an application has been issued to both a user and an electronic device, assigns use permission of an application to each of the user and the electronic device, based on a determination that a license for the application has been issued to both the user and the electronic device, and when use permission of the application has been assigned to both the user and the electronic device, permits the user who has logged in to the electronic device to use the application.
Offline license activation for barcode decoders
A system in accordance with the present disclosure may include a plurality of electronic devices that do not have Internet connectivity. Each electronic device may include a barcode decoder and a license activation application. The system may also include a computing device that has an Internet connection. The computing device may include a master program that is executable to obtain a plurality of identifiers from the plurality of electronic devices. The master program may also be executable to send at least one license request to a license server via the Internet connection. The at least one license request may include the plurality of identifiers. The master program may also be executable to receive a plurality of licenses from the license server in response to the at least one license request. The master program may also be executable to provide the plurality of licenses to the plurality of electronic devices.
