ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES FOR PROTECTIVE DEVICES, PROSTHETICS, AND ORTHOTICS
A lower extremity prosthetic socket, according to some embodiments. The lower extremity prosthetic socket includes a shell having variable thickness along a longitudinal length of the shell. The lower extremity prosthetic socket is configured to provide stability for a residual limb of a user when worn by the user. The lower extremity prosthetic socket is configured to distribute forces. The shell is configured to conform to an anatomical structure of the residual limb of the user.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES FOR PROTECTIVE DEVICES
A protective device for an upper extremity post-operative residual limb of a user. The protective device includes a multi-section shell having a shape that corresponds to an anatomical structure of the upper extremity post-operative residual limb of the user. The protective device also includes a hinge coupled with a first section and a second section of the multi-section shell, the hinge configured to facilitate relative rotation of the first section and the second section to transition the protective device between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The multi-section shell is configured to receive one or more attachments to increase functionality of the upper extremity post-operative residual limb of the user.
Passage-defining prosthetic limb structure and fabrication method
A prosthetic device includes an internal frame assembled from multiple longitudinal members and multiple transverse members that are substantially planar in character and are arranged to be joined together. A medially arranged opening is defined in each transverse member, and is substantially registered with openings of adjacent transverse members to form a longitudinal passage, such as may be useful to receive an actuator and/or other items. At least some transverse members differ from one another in one or more of shape, length, or width. A covering member may be provided over the internal frame. Rear-facing gaps in transverse members may receive one or more elements such as dampers, batteries, or the like.
PROSTHETIC SOCKET SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods are described herein for a prosthetic device that includes a premade outer shell socket with an inner surface contour. A prosthetic insert socket is manufactured via a manufacturing process, such as three-dimensional printing, to have an outer contour that corresponds to the inner surface contour of the premade outer shell socket. The prosthetic insert socket is manufactured to have an inner contour that corresponds to a residual limb surface contour of a patient.
PROSTHETIC WRIST
Prostheses include a terminal device, a back-lock mechanism, a wrist, a limb-socket, and a harness system. The terminal device can be a five-fingered mechanical hand that provides a releasable adaptive grasp, and has independently flexible fingers. The limb socket can be 3D printed using a molded model of a remnant limb. The harness strap can encircle an unaffected limb and is coupled to the terminal device with a cable so that a user can control the terminal device. The harness system can include a 3D printed harness ring that couples to the cable.
PROSTHESIS LINER
A prosthesis liner provided for fitting over a stump of a limb. The prosthesis liner includes a main body having an inner face directed towards the skin of the stump, and an outer face directed away from the stump. The prosthesis liner also includes a proximal access opening and a side wall, which extends from the access opening as far as a closed distal end portion of the liner. At least one sealing lip is arranged on the outer face of the main body and protrudes radially outwards from the main body.
Method for making a mold of an amputation stump, and molding aid for such a method
A method for making a mould of an amputation stump, in which the amputation stump is inserted into a liner of a moulding aid, the liner having a longitudinal direction and a circumference, and the liner having an expansion coupling such that when the liner is extended in the longitudinal direction, this necessarily results in a reduction of the circumference.
Adjustable prosthetic interfaces and related systems and methods
Prosthesis devices can include sockets having adjustable features. In one example, a socket includes one or more panels that can move outwardly or inwardly relative to a receptacle portion of the socket. The panels can be moved by tightening a tensioning line.
Apparatus, set and method for creating a plaster impression of a limb stump of a patient for manufacturing a prosthesis shaft and adaptor
The present invention relates to a medical apparatus (100) for use in manufacturing a plaster impression of limb stump, in particular of a lower stump, wherein the apparatus (100) comprises a pressure vessel (1) with a fluid chamber of pressure chamber (DK) for receiving or storing a fluid (F) being under pressure, wherein the pressure vessel (1) is limited against an exterior (Ä), wherein the pressure vessel (1) comprises an insertion opening (9) for the insertion of a limb stump (KS) into the interior (I) of the pressure vessel (1) and a fluid-tight membrane (5) made of two materials, which are arranged to form or limit the fluid chamber or the pressure chamber (DK). In addition, the present invention relates to a system (300) having a medical apparatus (100) and at least one contact surface (111). Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method.
