Prosthetic devices having electronic display and methods of fabrication thereof
A prosthetic device includes a prosthesis wall, at least one display carried by the prosthesis wall in spaced-apart relationship to the at least one display and interfacing with the at least one display, the control module adapted to present at least one image on the at least one display.
FLEXIBLE INNER SOCKET FOR PROVIDING INNER CIRCUMFERENCE REDUCTION TO RIGID PROSTHETIC SOCKET
A flexible inner socket is fabricated by forming a pre-socket. The pre-socket includes a body formed with an opening and an enclosed end. The enclosed end is opposite to the opening. The body of the pre-socket has an outer circumference that is smaller than the inner circumference of the rigid prosthetic socket. Different portions of the body may have different thicknesses. The preform socket is heated. After the heating, the flexible inner socket is formed by molding the pre-socket onto the inner surface of the rigid prosthetic socket to form the flexible inner socket. The inner circumference of the rigid prosthetic socket is reduced by a thickness of the flexible inner socket when the flexible inner socket is attached to the inner surface of the rigid prosthetic socket. An opening of the flexible inner socket may be trimmed after the formation to fit contours of an opening of the rigid prosthetic socket.
TEMPERATURE REGULATING APPARATUS FOR A PROSTHETIC LIMB
A temperature regulating socket apparatus for selectively heating or cooling a residual limb of an amputee is provided. The temperature regulating socket apparatus includes a socket having a brim, a distal end and a continuous side wall, all defining an open interior area for receiving the residual limb therein and a temperature regulating apparatus. The temperature regulating apparatus includes a thermal adjustment element embedded within the socket side wall; a temperature control unit operatively coupled to the thermal adjustment element; and a power supply operatively coupled to the temperature control unit. When the power supply is in its ON orientation the temperature control unit is powered so that the temperature control unit regulates the temperature of the thermal adjustment element to selectively heat or cool the residual limb within the socket.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES FOR ORTHOTICS
An orthotic device for a patient's foot includes a shell that is configured to structurally support the patient's foot. The shell has a variable thickness along a dimension of the shell. The shell is configured to undergo flexion throughout the shell. The variable thickness of the shell targets areas of increased stress.
LINER FOR PROSTHETIC AND ORTHOPEDIC SYSTEMS
A liner is arranged for use in prosthetic and orthopedic devices. The liner defines first and second end portions, and inner and outer surfaces. The liner includes an inner layer having a frictional component and forms at least part of the periphery of the inner liner surface. The inner layer defines a plurality of apertures. A porous element is in communication with the inner liner surface and is connected to the inner layer such that the apertures permit a transfer of air from the inner surface to the porous element. A base layer adjoins the porous element and extends between the first and second end portions of the liner.
PROSTHETIC FOOT WITH LAYERS OF FIBROUS MATERIAL
A prosthetic foot including a continuous body extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The body includes an anterior surface, a posterior surface opposite the anterior surface, and a fin on the posterior surface. A prosthetic foot can include a first footplate and a second footplate. The first footplate extends between a proximal portion and a distal portion. The proximal and distal portions of the first footplate are configured to operatively engage a support surface during ambulation. The second footplate extends between a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion of the second footplate is coupled to the first footplate at an intermediate location between the proximal and distal portions of the first footplate. The second footplate incudes an anterior surface, a posterior surface opposite the anterior surface, and a fin on the posterior surface.
SUPPORT STRUCTURE
A support structure, a prosthesis component, and a method for producing a prosthesis component.
Prosthetic Partial Fingers
Various embodiments of the present invention generally relate to prosthetic partial finger designs that can mimic the last two joints of the finger. Some embodiments include a proximal phalange, a distal phalange coupled to the proximal phalange, and a knuckle track (e.g., formed in an arc). The knuckle track can be moveably coupled to the proximal phalange an may include multiple teeth formed on which the proximal phalange slides along. A ratcheting mechanism can contact the multiple teeth to allow sliding in only a first direction while the ratcheting mechanism is engaged. Some embodiments include a release mechanism (e.g., a button) configured to disengage the ratcheting mechanism from the multiple teeth to allow the distal phalange to slide in a second direction. In some embodiments, the device may include a spring-back capability that automatically extends the finger after reaching full finger flexion, enabling one-handed use.

HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE PROSTHESIS PYRAMID CONNECTOR
A prosthetic device and related methods having height adjustment features. A prosthetic foot includes an elongate support member comprising fiber reinforced material and having a support surface configured to rest upon a ground surface prior to use, an adapter mounted to the support member and configured to secure the prosthetic foot to another prosthetic device, and a height adjustable feature configured to adjust a height of the adapter relative to the support surface.
