An electronic device has pixels that form an active area of a display for displaying images for a user. A layer of black ink or other opaque material may be formed on an inner surface of a display cover layer in an inactive area of the display that does not overlap pixels. The housing may have sidewalls such as a rear housing wall that faces away from the display. Ambient light sensor windows may be formed from tapered holes or other holes. The tapered holes may be formed in the opaque material on the display cover layer, may be formed in a rear housing wall or other hosing structure, or may be formed in other portions of the electronic device. Non-tapered holes may also form windows. Tapered holes may have sidewalls with portions that run parallel to their longitudinal axes and portions that are angled relative to their longitudinal axes.

Media device including display and power-delivery mechanism with integrated stand

A media device may include (i) a display device having a front side including a display surface, (ii) a support housing for supporting the display device in each of a plurality of alternative orientations on an external surface, the support housing extending from a back side of the display device between a mounting surface of the support housing abutting the back side of the display device and a distal end of the support housing, (iii) a coupling member disposed at the mounting surface of the support housing and mounted to the display device, and (iv) a battery power supply disposed within the support housing and electrically coupled to the display device via an electrical path extending through the coupling member. Various other systems, devices, assemblies, and methods are also disclosed.

SURFACE MODIFICATIONS FOR ENHANCED ADHESION BETWEEN COMPONENTS

An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device may include a display or desktop computing device with a display. The electronic device may be part of a system that includes a stand designed to support the electronic device, and further allow the electronic device to rotate to different positions. In order to control the relative rotational movement of the electronic device, a friction member is secured with the electronic device by an adhesive. The rotation, however, exerts shear forces on the friction member and the adhesive. In order to prevent delamination of the friction member from the housing due to the shear forces, the housing is modified to include protruding elements that penetrate, or extend into, the adhesive. The protruding elements can mechanically interlock with the adhesive to offset the shear forces, and also created additional surface with which the adhesive can bond.

Portable Monitor and Peripherals Hub System
20220110218 · 2022-04-07 ·

There is provided a portable screen and hub system, which incorporates the flexibility to install and interchange different types of functional apparatuses, such as a portable monitor, video-camera, microphone, speakers, sensors, characters/figurines, advertising slot and activation buttons among other peripherals. This present invention can interact mechanically, electronically, visually or orally with the user or third parties and be used in different applications. Internal and external structures house additional and/or extended electronic board and connectors which manage, interface and/or detect the signals obtained from the functional apparatuses and/or characters installed on the hub, and receive and/or send signals to an external device, such as a computer, computer monitor, smartphone, tablets, external memory and other apparatuses.

ELECTRONIC APPARATUS

An electronic apparatus includes: a first body including a first side and a second side arranged opposite to each other, and including a first input/output device disposed at the first side; a second body including a third side and a fourth side arranged opposite to each other, and including a second input/output device disposed at the third side; and a connector disposed at the first side and the fourth side. The second body rotates relative to the first body through the connector. During rotation of the second body, orientations of the first side and the third side substantially satisfy a same condition. The electronic apparatus includes a first attitude and a second attitude, which are switchable through the rotation of the second body. The second body does not block the first input/output device when the electronic apparatus is in the first attitude and the second attitude.

Portable medical monitor

A portable monitor operable in a first orientation and a second orientation. The monitor includes a housing and a handle having arms. A back side of the housing includes grooves sized and shaped to receive, respectively, the arms of the handle. The handle is pivotable about handle axles to a plurality of positions including a first position, in which the arms are received by first sections of the grooves, a second position, in which the arms are received by second sections of the grooves, and intermediate positions between the first position and the second position.

Electronic device

An electronic device includes a casing and an elastic body. The casing includes: a first wall from which a display screen of a display device is exposed; a second wall that is positioned apart from the first wall in a first direction intersecting the display screen of the first wall; a third wall that extends between the first wall and the second wall; and a fourth wall that extends between the first wall and the second wall. The fourth wall intersects the third wall. The elastic body is disposed at a corner between the third wall and the fourth wall. The elastic body is provided to project out from surfaces of the first wall, the second wall, the third wall, and the fourth wall.

Electronic Device With Visual Feedback

An electronic device such as a voice-controlled speaker device may have a housing. A speaker and other input-output components and control circuitry may be mounted within the housing. Light-emitting components may emit light that passes through a curved upper top cap portion or other housing structure. The light-emitting components may be interconnected using a flex circuit on a curved substrate or may be mounted on a planar circuit board. A subset of the light-emitting components may be rotated to improve color balance. Optical structures such as light guides, lens, microlenses, and/or a diffuser layer may be disposed over the light-emitting components to promote light mixing, to reduce hotspots, and to improve contrast on the top cap. The diffuser layer may be suspended using a support structure having baffle members to constraint the angular spread of the emitted light. Illuminated or persistently visible glyphs may be displayed in or near the top cap portion.
