CARD READER
A card reader includes an IC contact block having IC contact springs, a main body frame and a torsion coil spring which urges the IC contact block. The IC contact block has a card abutting part abutting with a card and a block side spring engaging part with which one end of the torsion coil spring is engaged and is movable between a contact position where the IC contact springs are contacted with the card and a retreated position where the IC contact springs are retreated from the card. The main body frame has a frame side spring engaging part with which the other end of the torsion coil spring is engaged. The torsion coil spring urges the IC contact block toward the retreated position and, when the IC contact block is pushed by the card, the IC contact block is moved from the retreated position against the torsion coil spring.
Card reader
A card reader may include an IC contact block; an insertion port; an insertion posture detection mechanism; a tip end detection mechanism; a pulling-out prevention mechanism structured to prevent pulling-out of a card inserted in an inside of the card reader when it is detected that the card is inserted into the insertion port in a correct posture based on a detected result of the insertion posture detection mechanism and, when it is detected that the tip end face of the card in the inserting direction has been inserted to the predetermined position based on a detected result of the tip end detection mechanism; and a pushing-out mechanism structured to push out the card inserted into the inside of the card reader in an ejecting direction of the card which is an opposite direction of the inserting direction.
Card connector suitable for insertion of card, base suitable for insertion of device, and terminal
The present invention discloses to a card connector, a base, and a terminal. The card connector suitable for insertion of a card includes a bottom board, where the bottom board is provided with a first-size area that is formed by side walls; the bottom board is further provided with a second-size area that is formed by locking units; when a first card is inserted into the card connector, the locking units are pressed down by the first card, and the first card is locked within the first-size area; and when the second card is inserted into the card connector, the second card is locked within the second-size area. Abase is disposed with side walls and locking units to form areas of different sizes, so that the card connector can be equipped with devices of different sizes, and can be highly versatile, widely applicable, and convenient to use.
Smart card connector
A smart card connector including a housing defining a smart card receiving slot communicating with a smart card ingress slit formed in the housing, a plurality of smart card contacts mounted within the housing and being configured for reading contact with a smart card inserted into the slot and a movable smart card contact mounting assembly supporting at least one of the plurality of smart card contacts and for positioning the at least one of the plurality of smart card contacts in a first position, in the absence of a smart card in the slot, and in a second position, different from the first position, when a smart card is fully inserted in the slot, wherein when the at least one of the plurality of smart card contacts is in the first position it is relatively inaccessible to tampering via the smart card ingress slit.
Card reader having discriminator contact
A card reader for a point-of-sale system that is configured to accept both magnetic strip-type and integrated circuit (IC) chip-type payment cards. The card reader is a component of a point-of-sale system including a portable computing device in communication with the card reader that is configured to present a first graphical user interface (GUI) when a magnetic stripe-type card is detected and a second GUI when an IC chip-type card is detected in the card reader. The card reader comprises a slot configured to receive the payment card, a magnetic reading device and an IC chip reading device. The card reader also includes a discriminator contact disposed within the slot that is configured to conduct across a surface of a metal pad of the IC chip-type card prior to the CI chip reading device making contact with the IC chip.
Memory card socket and data processing device including the same
A data processing apparatus includes an electronic device configured to store data and instructions; a memory card; and a memory card socket in which the memory card is inserted. In certain disclosed systems and methods, the memory card socket includes: an insertion portion through which the memory card is inserted; a lock portion formed around an edge of the insertion portion, and that is configured to control attaching and detaching of the memory card based on instructions received from the electronic device; and a main body including the insertion portion and the lock portion and configured to accommodate the memory card via the insertion portion.
