System for Data Card Emulation
An improved system and method for data card emulation involves a portable electronic device that can emulate any one of multiple data cards corresponding to multiple entities. The portable electronic device includes a memory for storing bar code information corresponding to data cards of the multiple entities. It provides a touch screen for identifying an entity and displaying a bar code corresponding to a data card of the entity.
Magnetic stripe track signal having multiple communications channels
An electronic card (e.g., an electronic payment card) or another device (e.g., a wireless telephonic device) is provided that may communicate dynamic magnetic stripe data to a magnetic stripe reader. Information may be embedded into a magnetic track of data representative of additional information such as, for example, a unique identification number or an additional track of magnetic stripe data.
TRANSACTION OBJECT READER WITH CONFIGURABLE AMPLIFIER
Systems and methods for reading from a transaction instrument are disclosed. In some examples, a system receives a signal from a reader interface in response to an interaction between the reader interface and the transaction instrument. The system amplifies the signal using an amplifier and based on a gain of the amplifier to generate an amplified signal. In some examples, the system converts the amplified signal. The system decodes data from the amplified signal. The system adjusts the gain of the amplifier based on the data. The system outputs the data, in some cases in an encrypted form.
ID TAG TECHNOLOGY
A method for identifying an identification (ID) tag that includes at least one magnetically bistable element. The method comprises one or more steps, including transmitting, via an excitation antenna, an excitation signal to the magnetically bistable element. An additional step includes receiving, via a pick-up antenna, a response signal generated by the bistable element. An additional step includes analyzing the response signal to identify at least two peaks in the response signal. A further step includes generating an identification code based on the two peaks, with the identification code being representative of an identity of the bistable element.
