Ballistic Vest
A protective garment includes a shell and an insert. The shell includes a front layer and a rear layer coupled to the front layer. The front layer and the rear layer form a void therebetween. The insert is disposed within the void. The insert includes a main body defining a first lateral side, a second lateral side opposite the first lateral side, and a bottom edge extending between the first lateral side and the second lateral side. The bottom edge defines a recess between the first lateral side and the second lateral side.
Neck Guard
The invention relates to a neck guard having an impact guarding insert. The neck guard has a body with a top with two tabs, a bottom, two ends, a front side, and a back side. A cavity is formed within the neck guard for containing the insert. The insert can be a removable insert that is selectably inserted and removed through an opening in the front side of the neck guard. The insert can also be permanently secured within the cavity. The insert can have a plurality of honeycomb shaped holes through it, and it is preferably made of a flexible and compressible material. The insert has tabs that can be aligned with and mate with tabs of the neck guard body. The body also has a bib at the bottom of the neck guard. The insert is also positioned through interfacing with the top of the bib.
OFFSET ARMOR FOR AN ATMOSPHERIC SUIT
Armor attached to a component of an atmospheric suit that maintains a specific atmosphere within the suit includes an armor component to absorb a predefined amount of energy. The armor also includes one or more standoffs to attach the armor component to the component such that all or most of the armor component is offset from the component.

CONFIGURABLE SHIN GUARD
A shin guard for a hockey player includes a knee portion having a knee cap adapted to cover a knee of the hockey player, and a shin portion located below the knee portion and extending from a lower end adapted to be proximate a foot of the hockey player toward the knee cap to cover a shin of the hockey player. The shin portion includes a shin cap having an outer side facing away from the shin and an inner side facing toward the shin, a main padded liner overlapping at least a portion of the inner side of the shin cap, and a shin comfort liner mounted internally of the main padded liner. The shin comfort liner is movable relative to the shin cap between first and second positions, the shin comfort liner moving away from the knee cap from the first position to the second position.
Backpack for Fall Protection
A backpack that includes an airbag and a release module that comprises a control unit and a gas cartridge. The backpack is configured such that the airbag, in a standby state, is deflated and stowed in a storage space of the backpack. The backpack is also configured such that the airbag is automatically inflated, in response to the control unit detecting a fall of a user of the backpack, by releasing gas from the gas cartridge into the airbag. The backpack is further configured such that the airbag, in an inflated state, protects a cervical spine and/or a chest region and/or shoulder region of the user.
IMPACT-RESISTANT CHEST PROTECTOR
An apparel system configured to be worn on a torso of a wearer is disclosed. The apparel system includes an apparel having an area configured to cover at least a left pectoral region of the wearer when the apparel is worn. The apparel system includes a rigid plate configured to be coupled to the apparel at a location covering the left pectoral region of the wearer when the apparel is worn. The rigid plate has a contour corresponding to the left pectoral region of the wearer. The apparel system lacks any additional rigid plate other than the rigid plate. A protective element configured to be worn by a wearer is also disclosed. The protective element comprises a rigid plate configured to cover a left pectoral region of the wearer when the protective element is worn. The rigid plate has a contour corresponding to the left pectoral region of the wearer.
Apparatus, system, and method for reducing head or neck trauma
A system for reducing trauma in the head or neck of a living being caused by acceleration of the head relative to a torso of the living being within a range of motion. The system includes a support engaging at least one of the head, neck, and shoulder of the living being without limiting the range of motion of the head or neck relative to the torso; a sensor in electrical communication with the system; a user interface in electrical communication with the sensor; and a damper associated with the support that is configured to mitigate the position, speed or acceleration of the head relative to the torso in response to information received by the sensor or user interface.
Combination deltoid and bicep guard
A deltoid guard has a body-conforming surface and can be removably attached to a body armor component by an expandable, releasable connector to facilitate articulation and expansion and contraction relative to the body armor component. An expandable strap is located on one side of the deltoid guard to retain the guard against the wear's body. A bicep guard can be attached to the deltoid guard such that the bicep guard can articulate with respect to the deltoid guard. The deltoid guard includes an opening to receive ballistic material. An identification panel can be removably attached to the surface of the deltoid guard.
Upper garment with customized spine support device
Disclosed is an upper garment with a customized spine support device. The upper garment includes an upper garment body having a back plate portion and a front plate portion and applied to an upper body; and a spine support device that presses and supports a spine of a wearer to maintain a spacing between vertebras.
