An image information converting apparatus according to one embodiment includes a converting unit, a splitting unit and an adding unit. The converting unit converts first image information described in a first language into second image information described in a second language, the second language being different from the first language. The splitting unit splits the first image information into a plurality of split image files so as to each have a data size satisfying a restriction in image processing performed by the second image forming apparatus. The adding unit adds first additional information to each of the split image files. The first additional information indicates whether or not to add an image formation unit mark. The image formation unit mark indicates boundaries between batches of image formation units corresponding to images to be formed on a plurality of pages.

A method for printing a web of packaging material for packages holding liquid food products is provided. The method comprises receiving a web of packaging material, identifying a first register mark using a first sensor, determining a first register mark position based on the first register mark, determining a second register mark position area based on the first register mark position, identifying a second register mark within the second register mark position area using a second sensor and determining a second register mark position for the second register mark, determining a second area position of the second area based on the second register mark position, adjusting the web in relation to printer bars in accordance with the second area position, determining a second area position of the second area based on the second register mark position, and printing the second area by using the printer bars.

A tape cassette includes: a case; and a cassette memory. The case accommodates therein a tape as a printing medium. The cassette memory includes: a first area; and a second area. The first area stores therein unique information specific to the tape cassette. The second area stores therein arbitrary information in an entire area thereof. The second area is set to a non-rewritable state using a first password such that the arbitrary information written therein is not rewritable. The first password is generated using a unique value which is a value of at least a part of the unique information stored in the first area and a first selection value which is an arbitrary value stored in a part of the second area specified by a predetermined rule.

A printing apparatus includes: a mechanism transporting a print medium; a first sensor outputting a signal indicating the presence or absence of a first mark; a first determining unit determining, on a first surface, a position of a second mark and a print position of an image based on the output signal; a first print head printing the second mark and the image at the determined print positions; a second sensor outputting a signal indicating the presence or absence of the first and second marks; a second determining unit locating a position of a predetermined one of the first and second marks, based on the signal output from the second sensor, and determines, on a second surface of the print medium, a print position of a target image based on the located position of the predetermined mark; and a second print head printing the target image at the determined print position.

A video system according to an embodiment includes a first device for generating signals corresponding to an error state of the first device. The signals identify error types and stages in an operation for clearing the error state experienced by the first device. A video image display screen is provided to display video images related to the error state. A second device is communicably connected to the first device to receive the signals from the first device and then supply the video images related to the error state to the video image display screen according to error type and stage in the operation for clearing the error state as indicted by the signal.

The print settings includes an item for a sheet size including a sheet length and an item for a print quality. A parameter settable to the print quality includes a parameter (e.g., a normal or high speed) corresponding to a high conveyance speed of a sheet and a parameter (e.g., a high or the highest image quality) corresponding to a low conveyance speed. When the sheet length of the obtained print size is longer than a particular length, a parameter to be set to the print quality is limited to the high image quality or the highest image quality, and otherwise, the parameter is not limited.
