Reading apparatus, processing apparatus, and image forming system configured to correct a reference image detection position
A reading apparatus includes a reading device and circuitry. The reading device reads a recording medium in a direction intersecting a conveyance direction of the recording medium. The circuitry detects a reference image for cutting processing of the recording medium, based on read information read by the reading device.
CONVEYING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, CONVEYING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM
A conveying device includes a sheet feeder that feeds a recording medium unreeled from a roll, a conveying roller that conveys the recording medium, and circuitry. The circuitry is to obtain a plurality of actual conveyance amounts each of which is a conveyance amount of the recording medium actually conveyed by the conveying roller at a time, calculate an adjustment value based on a difference between a target conveyance amount and each of the plurality of actual conveyance amounts to obtain a plurality of adjustment values, calculate an approximate line based on a plurality of adjustment points in a two-dimensional coordinate plane determined by the adjustment value and a diameter of the roll, specify an adjustment value corresponding to a current diameter of the roll based on the approximate line, and correct, based on the specified adjustment value, a conveyance amount by which the conveying roller conveys the recording medium.
PRINTING DEVICE
A printing device includes: a substrate feed-out section; a substrate transport section; a storage which stores the width size of the substrate; a skew correction section including a skew sensor which detects the skew of the substrate, and adapted to correct the skew of the substrate with reference to an output of the skew sensor and the substrate width size stored in the storage; an image recording section which performs an image recording operation on the substrate; a first sensor which detects a width size-changed portion of the substrate upstream of the skew correction section with respect to the transport direction; and a controller. Upon the detection of the width size-changed portion, the controller stops the substrate skew correction while continuously transporting the substrate. After the width size-changed portion of the substrate reaches a reference position downstream of the skew correction section, the controller restarts the skew correction.
READING APPARATUS, PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM

The circuitry detects a reference image for cutting processing of the recording medium, based on read information read by the reading device.
PAGE ALIGNMENT FOR TRACTORLESS PAPER
System and methods for page alignment for tractorless paper. In one embodiment, an apparatus receives a print job to be printed on a continuous web of print media in a duplex format with multiple first pages across a front of the web and multiple second pages across a back of the web which correspond with the multiple first pages. The apparatus maps pages to sheetlet regions, and applies first offsets to the sheetlet regions on the front of the virtual continuous forms based on operator input. The controller also determines second offsets for the sheetlet regions on the back of the virtual continuous forms based on an additive inverse of the first offsets, and modifies processing of the print job by applying the second offsets to the sheetlet region on the back of the virtual continuous forms to maintain alignment of front pages and back pages across the web.
Inkjet printer and inkjet printing method
Provided are an inkjet printer and an inkjet printing method with which, when image forming is performed on a web-shaped printing base material with inkjet inks, nozzles for discharging the inks are less liable to clog, streaks or density unevenness is less liable to occur at the time of solid printing, and a density of a single-color printing portion is easily increased. The inkjet printer for an inkjet ink is configured to perform image forming by discharging inkjet inks on a web-shaped printing base material by a single-pass method. The inkjet printer includes: a conveyance mechanism configured to continuously convey the web-shaped printing base material; a plurality of single-pass inkjet heads configured to discharge the inkjet inks to a front surface of the web-shaped printing base material conveyed by the conveyance mechanism; and a curing device configured to cure the inkjet inks discharged on the front surface of the web-shaped printing base material. Resolutions of the plurality of single-pass inkjet heads are varied depending on colors of the inkjet inks.
Printing apparatus
After printing cue marks and front surface images on the front surface of web paper by a printing station, an image data elongation-contraction processor creates corrected back surface image data based on elasticity information, and a printing station prints back surface images based on the corrected back surface image data, on the back surface of the printing medium. At this time, a page interval calculator calculates a page interval from an interval between the cue marks detected by a detector, and a difference computing unit calculates differences between the page interval and image size in a transport direction of the corrected back surface image data. Since these differences indicate shifts of the correction based on the elasticity information, optimal elasticity information can be set by revising the elasticity information with these differences through a setting unit. Consequently, the operator of the apparatus can easily set optimal elasticity information based on the differences.

PRINTING SYSTEM AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing system, including a printing apparatus that sends a print paper after printing to a post-processing machine and a web buffer that temporarily holds a print paper after printing, is provided with: a required print time calculation unit that calculates a required print time for each job; an increase and decrease amount calculation unit that calculates an increase and decrease amount of a consumption amount of the buffer per set for each job on the basis of a difference between a minimum processing time required for a process in a post-processing machine and the required print time; a predicted value calculation unit that obtains a predicted value of the consumption amount of the web buffer by accumulating increase and decrease amounts; and a conveyance control unit that controls a conveyance speed of print paper on the basis of the predicted value.
