Methods and printing system for intelligent offline ink estimation
A printing system includes an offline estimation device that provides estimates for ink or toner use for a print job at a target printing device. The offline estimation device retrieves digital front end (DFE) version information, configuration setting information, and color printing resources from the target printing device. Using the DFE version information, the offline estimation device selects a raster image processor (RIP) from a plurality of RIPs of software versions available within the printing system. The offline estimation device configures the RIP with configuration settings of the configuration setting information. The color printing resources also are pushed to the RIP. The offline estimation device provides the ink or toner use estimate using the configured RIP.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus can include a print head, a detector, a controller, and a power source. The print head includes one or more light emitting element rows, each light emitting element row composed of a plurality of light emitting elements. The detector detects the number of light emitting elements that emit light according to image data. The controller controls a driving voltage for driving the light emitting element based on a detection result. The power source supplies the driving voltage to the print head.
Color uniformity compensation mechanism
A system is disclosed. The system includes at least one physical memory device to store calibration logic and one or more processors coupled with the at least one physical memory device to execute the calibration logic to receive an image having a blended input color comprising a first primary color value and a second primary color value, generate blend weights for the blended input color based on the first primary color value and the second primary color value, receive a plurality of halftone designs corresponding to each of the first primary color value and the second primary color values and apply the blend weights and the plurality of halftone designs to the first primary color value and the second primary color value to generate a uniformity corrected halftone design associated with the first primary color value and a uniformity corrected halftone design associated with the second primary color value.

An image forming apparatus includes a first generation unit to determine a density in each of a plurality of regions of a first image formed by the forming unit, and generate first correction data for correcting a density of an image to be formed by the forming unit for each of the plurality of regions based on the density. The first correction unit corrects the density of the image to be formed by the forming unit for each of the plurality of regions based on the first correction data stored by the first storage unit. The second generation unit determines a density of a second image formed by the forming unit, and generate second correction data based on the density. The first determination unit determines an amount of unevenness in the main scanning direction of formation density by the forming unit based on the density determined by the second generation unit. The second determination unit determines that the first correction data is to be generated, based on the amount of unevenness determined by the first determination unit.
Method for controlling a decorative printing process
The application relates to a method for controlling a printing process for printing a decorative target image on a substrate, comprising providing the decorative target image to be printed in the printing process by at least one decorative parameter data set, simulating the printing process in a simulation step based on the decorative parameter data set, at least one printing process parameter data set and stored historical printing data sets, such that a digital decorative image is generated, verifying the generated digital decorative image based on the decorative target image to be printed and at least one verification criterion, and if the verification criterion is met, outputting the printing process parameter data set used in the simulation step for performing the printing process.

The controller is configured to acquire a first printing color gamut and, after loading the second flow path with the ink in the custom color, operate the first and second driving elements to print patches for first imaging color values. The first printing color gamut is a gamut including a custom color within a printing color gamut in a predetermined color space. The printing color gamut is a gamut including color values of colors printable in the inks in basic colors and the custom color. The first imaging color values are color values falling within the first printing color gamut among color values in image data of the image to be printed.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet, a conveyance roller configured to convey the sheet along a conveyance path, a reading unit which is provided on the conveyance path and is configured to read a pattern formed on the sheet, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the image forming unit to form a first pattern, control the conveyance roller to convey a sheet having the first pattern formed thereon, control the reading unit to read the first pattern, generate first data based on a result of reading the first pattern, and control the image forming unit to form a user image and a second pattern, the second pattern being formed in a region on the sheet that is different from a region in which the user image is formed.

A heating device includes a housing, a heating member, a pressure member, a pair of openings, and a thermal insulator. The heating member and the pressure member extend along a longitudinal direction and press each other to form a nip portion in the housing. The pair of openings is disposed in the housing and opens facing both end portions in the longitudinal direction of the heating member so that air passes through the pair of openings.
